Homemade French Onion Soup from scratch ( except for the gruyere, parmigiano reggiano and French Bread). Designed a new recipe that is pretty darn good. The cast iron dutch oven was 3/4 full before people starting requesting refills. Happy that I took a pic before it was all gone.

calldoctoday Nothing wrong with sausage and homemade kraut, one of my favorite meals. Also, my wife made bread to go with the soup, doesn’t get much better than that at my house.

bocephus You guys really got me going on that fementing. Done the kraut now & will not go back. Also doing several batches of last of the Mohegans peppers from the garden for some fermented hot sauce for the year & then some. I cannot wait to try some of the other vittles.

calldoctoday Thank god I took a shot of the pot before the whole CI Dutch Oven pot was finished. The neighbors only wanted a small bowl because they never had it. Then, attacked me after trying it. I probably should put up the recipe.

craigrice LOL It does look like creme brulee. That’s what gruyere and parmigiano reggiano look like after being attacked by the torch.

bocephus I chose the French Onion Soup below instead of the chicken noodle soup because I had more onions than chicken today. Couldn’t go out because of the 11 inches we received. But, chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles is the bomb for sure. We both ate very well.

craigrice That works real good for cooking, but not so much it seems for drinking. We did that last night for a buttermilk marinate for Shrimp Stir Fry. Works perfectly every time.

Made a batch of deer Chili today. We had freezing rain that turned to snow. Tomorrow’s low is supposed to be -3. Chili and fresh cornbread seemed appropriate.

I’d rather be sit’in in a boat and thinking about God,
Than sit’n in church and thinking about fish’in!

Wholey Cow! You Chef’s shure do get some great look’in vittles!
I only could muster up an old pinewood cocktail for dinner.
And it was a few weeks old piece of pine, definitely not fresh!!
