Surg Sous vide does straighten out the curve of doneness and texture. Besides injecting it, did you rub the outside with anything?
zbigjeff no rub this time but next time I will.
-
HerbcoFood when I was a kid that is what I asked for except I called them dipping eggs! Gotta dip your toast in those yolks!
ND Mike That’s what we always called them. Love some dippin’ eggs.

We went to a neighbor’s house last night and the wife is from Lafayette, LA. Since it was nice a cool outside she made chicken and sausage gumbo.

HerbcoFood that’s funny when I saw that picture I thought of beans and weenies and told my lovely wife that’s what I wanted for dinner tonight

Should we fire up the debate again as Jonathon alluded too on the livestream today? I made chili. Not Texas chili but chili the way we eat it up North. You see, we eat chili when it is cold out. Therefore, we put beans in it. You need all the extra protein you can get to help keep you warm and the beans help it stick to your ribs! Anyways, this was a mighty good bowl!

Amen to that!
PapaSop you have to put beans in it good old tight black beans or kidney beans

wdaly me too! I’m gonna have to make some for breakfast tomorrow!
-
little smokies and eggs are good for breakfast

Its a nice cool sunny day and the wife requested a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. I made the soup with home canned tomato juice. The grilled cheese was a Chipotle Pepper cheese and smoked Pepper Jack together. A quick but tasty lunch.

GWG8541 Always a great meal on a cool day.

GWG8541 A nice Tomato Soup with Cheese sandwiches is always welcome when the temperatures start to drop a bit & there is not a whole lot of time for serious cooking. Always satisfying.

Departing Contestant gotta love franks and beans.
Jamieson22 wow those dumplings look perfect! Look like the ones my mom used to make. Every time I make chicken and dumplings I get lazy and use store-bought biscuit dough. That picture may be motivation enough for me to make them next time.

calldoctoday The “top it off” item was the mushrooms/shallot butter sauce. I just did the same combo but with cognac. Both combos DO set off your tasty buds.
