What did everyone cook today?

Tex_77 Great looking combo. Steak and cakes is always a hit and your’s look delicious.
-
Pull out my last rib roast, my wife likes it medium, ugh. Add some creamed spinach, wild rice pilaf and sauteed mushrooms. A pineapple upside down cake along with a bottle of home made black currant wine.

YooperDog That’s a great Valentine’s meal. Everything looks great

It looks like many went all out to create a good meal today. Congratulations to all.

So for Valentine’s Day I asked my lovely wife what she wanted for dinner since we both had to work today. She wanted steak so I went with beef fillet (medium rare), mushrooms and onions, and Fondant potatoes. I left work a little earlier than her and surprised her with chocolate dipped strawberries and homemade banana bread. Thanks for the Banana bread idea johnsbrewhouse. Don’t laugh at my strawberries, I’m not the artsy type, but tried a white chocolate drizzle over the dark. Let’s just say they had plenty of chocolate on them and they were good.

After looking at all the Valentines supper posts I probably shouldn’t say that I had leftover spaghetti…lol! My wife went with her sister to watch our niece play basketball. So it was just me and my two youngest. My oldest was out with her boyfriend for supper. Didn’t really bother me as my wife and I are not huge Valentine day fans. But a bunch of you guys really knocked it out of the park with some of the cooks…well done!

GWG8541 I would think that you at least received a peck on the cheek. You may not think that your strawberries were professional. But, you at least did IT. Thinking you got at least 1 credit on your side to balance the “oh craps” on the other for at least one night.

We were not much different, I went and picked up commodity feed ingredients and made feed when I got home, and we all ate leftovers tonight.

mrobisr yep…I should be in bed sleeping since I am working an overtime shift tomorrow at 0600 but here I am on Meatgistics! As you said, life moves forward…lol!

GWG8541 That a good looking meal, and your banana bread looks good too. I made the wife a Salisbury steak that was heart shaped using some meatloaf seasoning I just got from Walton’s. I almost dyed it red, but then I thought she might not eat it thinking it was raw or rare.
johnsbrewhouse probably a good call not to go red. My wife is the same way. Anything below medium she wants back on the grill. Im OK if it is between mooing and medium rare.

Well, the upper crust steak houses have nothing on “DennyO’s Smokey Bones” . I have a very unique and special steak for my bride.
The other heart from the cow!

It is a prime butterflied ribeye split at 1-1/4" each, reverse seared. -
