cdavis Our report says only 80 here when we first started early this morning, but about 300% humidity. No, just kidding, I think we took a reading at one time & it was only about 70% on the outside & 50 some odd% on the inside, but feels like 300%. Probably in the upper 80’s low 90’s when we wrapped it up this afternoon. I thought Oklahoma would be low humidity when I was on assignment there a time or two, but I think you had some pretty high humidity of your own surprisingly enough, maybe not this high though.

Picked up this ‘little griddle’ on marketplace for 30 bucks. Christening it with some Onion and smash burgers.

I started International Bacon Day with a hardy bacon filled breakfast for my lovely wife and ended it with a little more bacon. Dinner was an Elk, bacon with smoked cheese burger. Happy International Bacon Day everyone.

Bob Stehlik fish fry and brandy old fashion. I went into withdrawals when I got assigned to TX from MN. I was living in Superior, WI, grew up in Milwaukee and fish fries were common place, not so much elsewhere. I won’t even go into the blasphemy some places call an old fashion…

cdavis They usually don’t have much to say when they see me carrying my sidearm asking why they are on private property and I explain to them they can’t hunt the timber company property either, since they don’t want them on their land either right now. They want me to have them trespassed, it’s easier just to ask them to leave and explain to them what happens if we have to have a game warden come in. They loose their ability to hunt for a year, that changes minds fast.

zbigjeff Not sure how to say this. I am not sure anyone needs the Silent Enforcer, but the results that I have seen in some good folks that survive an enforcement are life changing, amazing. I am not sure how to say all that in a good way as it is intended.

If anyone has read the “only a cheese head will know” thread started by Jonathon, this is where the inspiration came from. Opening day was this Wednesday for dove here in Texas, it’s a day I do my best not to miss no matter when it happens. There is a song by Pat Green called, “West Texas holiday” that is about dove hunting. So here it is, grilled dove over hatch chile bacon, baked (bread) cheese, topped with a slice of avocado and jalapeno.

zbigjeff Most of the hunters are understanding, very few are problems. We have had a couple and we have troubles with, we Meth labs here in the woods as well. I carry my Glock and have my old City ID with me, as well as my phone. I know most of the Game wardens up here and the Deputy that patrols our area. They all know who I used to work for now, so we have a pretty good understanding that if I call, we have a problem. Most of the people who wonder in, will leave once I tell them how close they are to people living and camping and that they can go up the road into the National Forest and hunt to their hearts content. I even tell them we they can go and what to watch out for.
