Well, went shopping for horseradish root and obtained it for Easter dinner. Then, came across a beer vendor hawking Shiner Candied Pecan. Bought it to sip with some Knob Creek Single Barrel 120 proof. The Shiner was very smooth and could taste the pecans. Made watching the Masters very enjoyable.

My buddy gave me a bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, I thought it was decent. For me it’s not bad but I don’t see all the craziness for it. Though it is my understanding some bottles change their flavor as you drink them, this could be one of them.

HerbcoFood I have 5 different double oaked bourbons and this one is tops on my list when my taste buds want that flavor. Just go for what your taste buds tell you and enjoy.

Jumped off the bourbon trail today and tried an adjacent one. A revival of an old name from what I read. A decent pour. 🥃👍

Just tossed the brisket on, this will be my drink for a few before I get into the coffee and then into more dark water and a stogie.

PapaSop it was surprisingly good when I had it. I picked mine up while in Tennessee and the store owner told me it was a revival of an old whiskey. Glad you enjoyed it. Life’s too short for bad whiskeys.

Saw this at a random Spec’s that had the scotch I was looking for. It’s to be one of those high demand bottles. It was limit 1 per customer.

HerbcoFood My wife and I are house and dog sitting for my inlaws. My brother inlaw isn’t much of a whiskey drinker, but has a bar that most of of would envy. Not necessarily for the liquor, but for the bar itself. The best part is he picked up some Smoke Wagon recently and I get to try before I buy now. He even has a bottle of small batch.

GWG8541 All I can say is wow, Wow! That is more than that doctor’s house I looked at in Lake Hopatcong New Jersey over 20 years ago. But then he had the restaurant, dancefloor, machine shop, & wine cellar too that were basically bigger than my own home. Wow again!
