Making tomorrow’s dinner, just a large pot of clam chowder. Calling for 5-10" of snow this weekend and I need to hit the road. Might be busy plowing Sunday night when I get home.

YooperDog Love clam chowder, mom was from New Hampshire originally. Snow is not the word I like to here, I have the plow on the quad, but we have been warm. Temps are suppose to drop next week. Glad I don’t work anymore, I always hated snow because we had 12 hour shifts with snow and had to chain trucks and all the others city vehicles, then go home wet. Then have to plow my hill and driveway to get in and out.

Had to think up something for dinner tonight. Chicken breasts stuffed with pepperoni and Mozella cheese with spaghetti sauce and mushrooms. While I was making it I heard my male dog hit my glass dog trying to get it open, thought it was a rabbit, didn’t pay much attention until I saw him still watching the door. Looked out and saw a rooster pheasant standing in the yard. Thought to myself, this guy could have joined us for dinner, but he decided otherwise and headed towards my creek while I was grabbing the camera. Of course the dogs found him and flushed him before I got a picture. Had there been less neighbors close, he might have been on the plate instead of chicken. IMG_0264.JPG IMG_0266.JPG IMG_0265.JPG

johnsbrewhouse Not a big fan of winter either, but it is what happens. I enjoy a handful of winter activities, it does get old. I enjoy ice fishing cross country skiing/snowshoeing, but snow Nov - May gets longer every year. We usually head out for a break late winter so that helps.

YooperDog Soups and chowders always good on cold days, need a grilled cheese to go with it.

My version of the McRib. I cooked a couple test patties just to check flavor, but this is my first full blown McRib sandwich.

lkrfletcher Isn’t that the truth, it amazes me how fast food is so ingrained in our society. When I was young the only time we ate at a place like that was when we were traveling. For a while I was as guilty as anyone to the fast food trend, now we hardly ever eat there, except again while traveling.

bocephus Yeah, if you don’t pack a lunch you have to plan for a couple stops…one for the drive through and then another shortly after for the aftermath!

Ridley Acres That is true, if I don’t pack a sandwich or two, I try to eat a chicken sandwich while travelling, seems to not cause problems.

A little bean soup with ham and some skillet cornbread. I topped off the beans with the home canned Cowboy Candy for a little heat. It must be the Hillbilly DNA, but I love beans and cornbread.
