I recieved a package today from Walton’s. I had placed a small order recently and thought it had arrived. I opened the box and found this awesome gift. There is only one problem, my wife said " thats too cool to cut stuff on". So I now have the absolute coolest charcuterie board, although I have never put a charcuterie together; ever. I did break the seal on a new bottle to celebrate. Thanks Walton’s and the Meatgistics community.

GWG8541 Congrats on getting the board. Just applied the 3rd coat of mineral oil on mine to season it. You also honored the board with a proper rye. Yay for you. I’m not a huge fan of many ryes. But, that one and the other finished in run casks are pretty darn good.

zbigjeff I’m not a rye fan either, but this one was better than the high content stuff. Just a mild peppery taste.

GWG8541 Way to go. I keep my oiled with mineral oil, try to take care of it when cutting as to not cut too deep, and use it both for presentation and a cutting board.

                        Best of both worlds.

bocephus I tend to use pressed glass plates and scrap granite from countertops for presentations.

Many countertop installers will gladly give you scraps of all colors and sizes for free. I get pressed glass, cut glass, and crystal serving pieces from 2nd hand stores. I started this when I realized that it was cheaper than disposable plastic items.

It presents well and easy to clean up.

Chef That hall looks very familiar, but then again so many these days look all the damn same.

bocephus I tend to use pressed glass plates and scrap granite from countertops for presentations.

Many countertop installers will gladly give you scraps of all colors and sizes for free. I get pressed glass, cut glass, and crystal serving pieces from 2nd hand stores. I started this when I realized that it was cheaper than disposable plastic items.

It presents well and easy to clean up.

Chef Very nice presentation, I would never have something this big, just a few family or friends. Yours shows what a little ingenuity will do though.
