GWG8541 I learned something else today as I did not realize they were the state fruit of Ohio. That makes since though as far as some of the terrain & climate goes. Yes, most folks any more have never even heard of them (unless they probably are from Kantucky, Tennessee, or of course Ohio), much less know that they taste good. Of course, that seems to apply to a whole lot of things we have eaten in the past. Now what really sounds good is that Paw Paw Mead you are talking about. I would really like to find out how that turns out, but I already know its got to be good. Now just to figure out how to get my hands (mouth) on some.
calldoctoday buy the way, my brother-in-law is from Indiana. They obviously have Paw Paws there and refer to them as the Indiana banana.

GWG8541 Well then, Indiana Nanners would be pretty close I suppose.

I am drinking a new product from Leinenkugel’s. It a collaboration lager from Hofbrau Munchen and Leinenkugel’s made with German malts and American hops. Its a nice amber lager. I tried the first one camping this weekend and have another one beside me right now.

The next picture is a look into a future drink. We collected some Pawpaws to make a batch of mead with some honey we recently harvested. The last Pawpaw mead we fermented was really good. Hoping for the same or better results.

That Leinenkugel collaboration beer sounds worth trying.
What kind of yeast do you plan on using for your honey/paw paw mead? -

My brother-in-law planted some trees here in NJ and has great results. The fruit is great and very bountiful when producing. Shame they are so perishable. -

We should be celebrating Oktoberfest year-around. Prost!
-
Surg I believe you to be correct as it’s not over the top with botanicals.
-
Decided to it’s a vodka neat with a twist of lime kind of evening.

Samples of a new whisky came in. Given a few to sample.

Wow. If you have a sweet tooth this may be for you.
Imagine the sweetest BBQ sauce you’ve ever tried, combined with a charcoal smoky taste. Couldn’t finish it. Way to sweet for me.Had to pour a glass of Elijah to get rid of the taste.

Not a bad drink for $22. Not amazing but have had worse at higher price points.
-
Surg You are very correct.

Just had these 2 yesterday. Both were tasty and different. We were more on a scotch kick yesterday by the way we put a dent into it.
