Well I don’t remember who all told me to use Chicken on the Run on grill, but thank you, it turned out great! Wings 2 ways with Chicken on the Run and Chicken on the Run Nashville Hot. Also made some potato boats.

Tex_77 Well, I never thought of or read about any of you guys placing chicken directly on the grill when breaded in “chicken on the run” coating. Thanks for the option. Looks like they browned up very nicely.

Tex_77 It works great on legs and thighs, I use a gallon ziplock and just shake them in there to coat.

bocephus Tex_77 That’s what I’m talking about. I have some thighs that I marinated first in chicken on the run marinade and then, coated. It’s on the docket for tomorrow afternoon.

HerbcoFood getting FANCY with the dove, nicely done! My dog came within about 3 inches of snagging one out of the air today. The idiot thing flew about 2 feet above him and he almost snagged it!

We just did some simple old Fried Whole Turkey with mashed taters, Simple Dressing, & home made Cranberry. I tried using Soybean Oil as although for the past 35 years of frying turkeys, at least, I have never strayed from Peanut Oil, the Price has now gone beyond ridiculous. The Soybean Oil has a higher smoke point 460 vs 450, so I figured, what the heck, let’s give it a shot, with Soybean Oil less than 1/3rd the price of Peanut. It worked perfectly fine. Now the next question will be, how many times can I filter it & re-use it before too much break down. Stay tuned for the future. We forgot to take photos though. I made a homemade injection liquid with Honey, Lemon, Garlic Juice, melted butter, & some of our pepper sauce to give it a little kick. The breast was a little drier than I typically like it to be for frying (13 pounder at about 46 minutes), the dark meat was perfect, the skin for the most part was crunchy & tasty.

So for Valentine’s Day I asked my lovely wife what she wanted for dinner since we both had to work today. She wanted steak so I went with beef fillet (medium rare), mushrooms and onions, and Fondant potatoes. I left work a little earlier than her and surprised her with chocolate dipped strawberries and homemade banana bread. Thanks for the Banana bread idea johnsbrewhouse. Don’t laugh at my strawberries, I’m not the artsy type, but tried a white chocolate drizzle over the dark. Let’s just say they had plenty of chocolate on them and they were good.
