Drink of Choice

YooperDog I forgot about that one, but remember it now. I need to get my sone to take a picture of that bottle of Burgermeister I still have. I don’t know how I have kept it all these years.
calldoctoday You may not want to open it. A couple of my uncles owned tavern’s and I seen a handful of canned goods move across their bars. Schlitz, PBR, Miller and Hamm’s were the standard, but there was always a case ore two of some off brand that a handful wanted. When you went up north to the Northwoods that is where you found the exotics like Rhinelander, Old Style, Linenkugles, Special Export… LOL.

I had my first Old Fashioned (that I remember) on New Years and oh my god is that a dangerous drink!

HAHAHA! Welcome to the family. I love experimenting with different ways of making ol’ fashioned. I should share my current experiment in the recipe section

Dr_Pain There’s many ways to experiment. I’m only up to about 20 and haven’t found a bad one yet. But, still looking for one to blow the top off while wearing a seatbelt.

My favorite so far is simple sirup made from turbinado and Four roses. Great pairing and delicious to boot!!!
I agree with you the journey/experimentation is worth it

First time trying this.

Actually quite tasty. Might have to just sip this slowly. Jonathon’s dance party is still a couple hours away.
Still curious of his version of 70’s and 80’s rock… Hmm.
First Bee Gee song, I’m gone! -
Here’s a new one for me…

Here’s a new one for me, and another…

Tex_77 Mellow corn is on my to try list
-
Tex_77 It doesn’t strike me as a 114 proof because it’s so smooth. Hoping you enjoy it.
-
Tex_77 OK, another one that I must at least try because I never saw that one anywhere.
-
zbigjeff its BIB as well, just didn’t get it in the picture.
-
Tex_77 looks tasty, let me know if its worth looking for.

YooperDog You have a few good ones in there, north or south!

calldoctoday I remembered another, Blatz. If you drive around up north here in the Midwest you will probably run into an old bar or supper club and they will have some old signs of odd beers.

Chefs, I need to hang up the tool belt for good! I must have missed the invite!or
(sad eyes)
Wasn’t invited to the party once again.
boo hoo, hoo. (enter cheesy grin)! LOL -
It would have been Dance Fever as the first song, then basically the entire play list from Guardians of the Galaxy movies 1 and 2!

zbigjeff thanks, I had not had an appetite during the first 3 days or so and ate a few crackers to coat the stomach for some prescriptions. One of the first things I tried when I felt well enough to eat was my favorite pizza place here in town. It’s a family owned place and soul food to me, since I grew up on it. My family has been great keeping me taken care of and delivered it to the bedroom door. The pizza looked great, it was hard to smell but smelled fine. I took a bite and about cried. The pizza I have eaten since a kid and the only purchased pizza my parents would buy, tasted horrible. No lie, I was mortified. I was expecting a boost from this great pie of nutrition and got just the opposite. The best description I can give is it was like a bite of straight salt with a dollop of grease.
So know I’m thinking what next??, Whiskey, beer? I know there are some claiming their taste buds have not recovered. This would really be unimaginable. Im hoping this is temporary.
Buy the way, I do not recommend this diet plan. Lost 8 pounds the first 4 days and made sure I stayed hydrated.GWG8541 I’m glad you are on the mend. When I had Covid back in 2020 my taste was affected but not smell. Everything tasted salty to me with the exception of water. Water tasted like it had a bunch of sugar in it. Weirdest thing ever. I have since had the new omicron variant and that was like a cold with no side effects of taste or smell.

Tex_77 Will start looking for the Mellow Corn.

exhausted from lack of sleep and needing a good drink!
