Dr_Pain in the part of Canada where you resided, was ham-bacon readily available?
I had read somewhere that parts of Canada serve it as do Brits.
As I understand it is a boned-out pork ham roast wrapped in a pork belly and then cured, smoked, and then thick sliced across the grain so you get a ring of bacon around a slice of ham.

        It sounded delicious to me.!

It was not a staple at my house but I did have it a few times at my best friend at University. If I understand what you described we called it porchetta.

Easy dinner tonight . Pot roast (rump)with Yukon gold potatoes, carrots and onions. I seared the roast in a skillet on all sides before throwing it in the slow cooker. Went to work and came home to a great chunk of meat with veggies.

I did a set of Pork Loin Tips late last night, brined in a home made Apple Jack Brown Sugar & Herb brine. Smoked with Apple wood & Bourbon Barrel Staves & served with a Roasted Fall Vegetable medley (Butternut Squash, Sweet Taters, Peppers, & Onions) and a little Macaroni & Cheese. Forgot all about them pictures though as we was Hongry!

Smoked Bacon Cheeseburger meatloaf. Another experiment to see if the wife would like it. It went over well and came out moist and tasty. Had some deep fried red potatoes and corn with it. IMG_0232.JPG IMG_0233.JPG IMG_0234.JPG

GWG8541 love a good pot roast every now and then. Especially as the cold weather rolls in. Looks perfect.

Surg I like pot roast potatoes and onions, don’t mind a few carrots but not a lot. Mash it all together and pour some of the juice over it.
