Looks great. Love me some pickled green beans. First time I tried them was at an Amish flea/farmers market. Had a sample, and the guy came up behind me and said, “How’d ya like dem dilly beans!” Scared the crap outta me. I’ll never see them again without thinking of that moment. Nice looking crop you had there.

Surg Looks like good fruit set, you should get fruit. Enjoy them, they are delicious. I should pictures of my coffee tree in bloom. I may get a few Kona beans this year. Coffee trees are hard to grow out of the tropics and especially indoors.

March, 2021 I Resized.jpg June, 2021 III Resized.jpg June, 2021 I Resized.jpg June, 2021 Tomatoes IIResized.jpg Finally got a chance to get some photos in. First photo is March, next two are today after nearly a month with no significant rain then weeks of very heavy rain. Everything is a little sparse. The tomatoes are Better Boy I believe, German Queen, & San Marzano. We ate all the cabbages, carrots, asparagus & harvested most of the Elephant Garlic. Still getting a few green beans, tomatoes, peppers, chard, basil, onions, eggplants, mints, cucumbers, etc.

You should definitely post pics. Interested to see what they look like. Haven’t tried the roasting yet but I saw a method using a popcorn popper that looked interesting.

Surg was going to get some pictures but my trees are getting top heavy and falling over now and I am loosing blossoms. I should get some more shortly. I was forced to stake the trees with heavier stakes and since they are indoors and eight feet tall, I need longer stakes than at hand. It’s way to hot to run the table saw and rip some new one. It’s 7 PM right now and 105 degrees here in Washington State. As soon as the fruit comes off, it will be time to prune them down to a more manageable size.

Rabbits defied our electric netting and chowed down on our cukes. Should have used a poultry net instead of our moveable goat netting as they can just jump trough the squares.

GWG8541 It seems to be a tough year this year. First about a month with no significant rain, then a month or more with nothing but heavy rain. Too much heat & humidity is taking its toll on everything this year. Even the Okra are having a hard time now that we are getting so much rain.

                                  In each jar -
                                  Add 1 clove of garlic
I also add 1/2 tsp dried garlic granules
                                  1/4 tsp pickle crisp granules
                                  10 peppercorns
                                  1/4 tsp mustard seed
1 Habanero - slit down the slides
2-3 sprigs of dill - including bud
                                  1/2 tsp dill seed
                                  Pickling cucumbers

                                  Water bath for 10 minutes.

Rabbits defied our electric netting and chowed down on our cukes. Should have used a poultry net instead of our moveable goat netting as they can just jump trough the squares.

Ridley Acres I have 2 solutions, plus a third back up at my house for those pests. If the dogs don’t get them, the .22 caliber pellet pistol does and they will become a meal or fertilizer.

                                        Pretty easy
1 brine - 1/2 white vinegar to water. Add appropriate amount of pickling salt.

                                        In each jar -
                                        Add 1 clove of garlic
I also add 1/2 tsp dried garlic granules
                                        1/4 tsp pickle crisp granules
                                        10 peppercorns
                                        1/4 tsp mustard seed
1 Habanero - slit down the slides
2-3 sprigs of dill - including bud
                                        1/2 tsp dill seed
                                        Pickling cucumbers

                                        Water bath for 10 minutes.
