What did everyone cook today?
-
Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, homemade gravy and corn for Mother’s Day lunch. I used Chicken on the Run Breading and thier marinade. I also add some of Excalibur’s Nashville Hot Chicken seasoning to a few of the pieces and it was really good!

Tex_77 - Simply Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

A little smoked prime rib for my wife, mother, and brother.
wdaly - Looks perfect

Oh boy was I a slacker today looking at everyone’s cooking. Man good looking chicken, haven’t you heard that there is a chicken shortage, should be saving those birds for the apocalypse

Today I kept it a bit simple. With all the bourbon talk yesterday it got me thinking. Stuffed mushrooms, venison back straps in a bourbon maple syrup butter sauce and a green salad with bourbon maple syrup glazed pecans and bacon bits with a bourbon maple syrup dressing. Tex_77 I am going to have to try some of those chicken seasonings. I am going to sit back and enjoy a little Makers. Congratulations to all!!!

YooperDog - WTG. looks great!

6 spatchcocked Cornish game hens and cheesy scalloped taters is what my wife wanted for Mother’s Day supper. Only got a pic of the game hens.

@ndmike - I love these things. Great!

YooperDog It’s all about priorities. You have them in the correct location. Glad you could get out and ride. We had 39 and snow/rain alllllllll day. We should be 70. Must be global warming.
zbigjeff Yeah it is snowing here today and yesterday was pretty chilly. Trying to get a bit of a garden going and some outdoor chores, but the weather isn’t cooperating.

GWG8541 That fish looked awesome! Tex_77 I was wondering how the Nashville Hot would mesh with he chicken on the run. I know it works great with the Chipotle Lime Sweet Rub and the Authentic Buffalo but hadn’t gotten around to trying that yet! I am going to try some shrimp with chicken on the run this evening so I will let you know how Chicken on works with the Nashville Hot with Shrimp

zbigjeff One of my clients must be up near you. They indicated just about the exact same on Saturday. Amazing, & it was approaching 80 & the humidity is on the rise. All you all can’t be that far away!

Man, you are killing me with that burger & dog picture. That plate looks to be just the right size for one person. I could definitely belly-up to that.Jonesy Thank you, we really try.

calldoctoday All that day was good for was sitting inside sippin’ on either “whiskeys or wine”. Looks like there’s a warmup coming next week. It can’t get here soon enough. So, I prepped up 5 thighs and 4 breasts by pounding them, seasoned them with homemade emeril creole seasoning, stuffed them with either smoked cheddar or gouda wrapped in prosciutto and wrapped them in bacon, cooled them overnight and vacuum packed them for the freezer. I’m currently cooking like a madman getting ready for hip replacement rehab where I can’t be on my feet (no weight bearing) for four weeks. Just filling up the freezer and will reheat soups, beef stroganoff, rice, quinoa, mashed potatoes, variety of veggies, chicken, stuffed pork chops, etc via sous vide. Doing that because I can’t bring myself to eat recommended store bought processed frozen dinners. So, used the day wisely.

zbigjeff You’ll be surprised how fast you’ll be up and about. The first day you’ll be walking. They don’t want you sitting idle. I had my knee’s replaced in 2010 three month’s apart. They had me out of bed the next morning, walking the hall.

johnsbrewhouse I wish that was the case. But, due to some issue, he is planning on going in from the back (posterior) vs the front (anterior) as of right now. Thinking they are advising me the worse right now and then, maybe I’ll be overjoyed if they tell me they went in the other way when I awaken. We will see.

Well you know you won’t be sitting if it’s posterior. Hopefully it’s anterior. I know # 2 knee was better and faster healing than #1. They over medicated me with the first one. Wishing you the best though, surgery is not our friend as we age. I still need another fusion, but holding out for a better procedure.

zbigjeff Good luck with the procedure. My sister had a replacement done in January and is pain free and mobile enough to dance and walk long distances again.
