Chef the China you are referring to was my Mom and Dads. I lost both of them last year and none of the family wanted the every day China. I took it and combined it with some similar pieces I bought 30 plus years ago. It was only fitting to serve the wife’s breakfast on it this Mother’ Day. Its my second one without Mom and man do I miss her today. Dad taught me how to hunt and garden, but Mom taught me how to make all of that stuff taste good.

GWG8541 That pattern was not my mother’s, but it is a beautiful pattern. We also use ours for everyday.

I do have my mother’s china. It was from Japan, just after the war. I gave my daughter her choice of the two when she got married 3 years ago. She chose my mother’s She loves to entertain in her college style apartment, tight fit, but she always breaks out the china and sends me a picture. I think she uses it more than my mother did. Similar to you, my dad taught me to rebuild an engine, my mom taught me how to place love in every meal I cook.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.

Well, just had to do a fast one today for Mother’s Day brunch with Chocolate Pecan Hotcakes (My wife likes Chocolate & Pecans), Potatoes Rancheros, & Scrambled Eggs Carnitas. Only I had to serve it all hot together & everyone gobbled it up fast so, sorry, no photos.

That looks great Tex_77, a true classic

Fried up some morels as an appetizer. Used cracker crumbs and butter. Can’t be beat!

Then fixed up some pork chops on the pellet grill and sweet potatoes. Used the Mrs’s new polish pottery pieces to serve (I add a piece or two to the collection every Mother’s Day).

Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, homemade gravy and corn for Mother’s Day lunch. I used Chicken on the Run Breading and thier marinade. I also add some of Excalibur’s Nashville Hot Chicken seasoning to a few of the pieces and it was really good!

6 spatchcocked Cornish game hens and cheesy scalloped taters is what my wife wanted for Mother’s Day supper. Only got a pic of the game hens.

Oh boy was I a slacker today looking at everyone’s cooking. Man good looking chicken, haven’t you heard that there is a chicken shortage, should be saving those birds for the apocalypse☺

Today I kept it a bit simple. With all the bourbon talk yesterday it got me thinking. Stuffed mushrooms, venison back straps in a bourbon maple syrup butter sauce and a green salad with bourbon maple syrup glazed pecans and bacon bits with a bourbon maple syrup dressing. Tex_77 I am going to have to try some of those chicken seasonings. I am going to sit back and enjoy a little Makers. Congratulations to all!!!
