A night off from the grill. Sudden craving for shrimp and fries. Visited the frozen section. Haven’t deep fried in some time. Well worth it. Just me and the Brothers!

Experimented a little the other day with 100% ground turkey. Made maple breakfast sausage, 1 lb of Jerry’s Bratwurst without casings and 2 lbs of Excalibur Signature Smoke Kielbasa without casings. Only got photos of the Kielbasa, I was impressed with the turkey and not needing to case it, the flavor was a bit spicy for kielbasa, the must use hot paprika, but it was tolerable. Smoked it for fours hours at 160 degrees. IMG_0300.JPG !

How about a little smoked breakfast casserole with maple smoked sausage, maple smoked buckboard bacon, lots of peppers, fresh shredded hash browns, cheese, & of course, eggs.Smoked Breakfast Caserole I - Resized.jpg Smoked Breakfast Caserole III - Resized.jpg

Jonathon I am jealous about the pheasant, but I needed to celebrate my wife’s birthday and she has been hinting for beef. I found beef tenderloin for 5.99/lb. Going back tomorrow to stock the freezer.

Beef tenderloin, grilled Mexican street corn, baked potatoes, herbed butter and sauteed mushrooms and onions.

calldoctoday the local Econo food store. Just made a quick stop in last night and they were putting them out. A refrigerated bunker full. I didn’t believe the price with, but was told that is their 4th of July special. Thank you, I will pass it along to my wife.

Tex_77 the Elotes were a test run for the wedding. I think if we go that route I would make it off the cob to serve as a side. A handful of folks that are coming are spinning up that I won’t have designated servers because of C-19. I am providing hand sanitizer and food service gloves… Their decision.

Tex_77 Whoa & I mean WHOA! I could only get choice flat last Monday, no prime, no Full Packers & I had to pay $5.69 a pound for that stuff. I usually pay about $2.39 a pound for prime whole packers & we thought that was expensive.

YooperDog I would definitely just make it a salad for that, individual cobs would be a ton of work. Maybe buy frozen corn, char under a broiler, then you won’t have the mess of cleaning the corn and cutting it off the cob.
