What did everyone cook today?

RON PARRISH From everything I have heard from various podcast, they do not. Now I have never used them, so good question. My understanding is that they just had flavor oils to those types of pellets. I think I have also heard that Treager holds the patent for adding the flavor oil in. Right now I use B&B pellets as that is what we sell where I work.
Tex_77 That is what I have heard also. Thanks for reply

Everyone’s meals looked delicious. I’m sorry I can’t post on them all because I was busy and fell so far behind on the posts. I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. t looks like you all ate well. We cooked up some Cornish game hen halves on one Traeger w/bourbon brown sugar pellets. Also did some “Cheater” Pastrami (corned beef soaked overnight to remove salt)on the other Traeger w/Maple pellets. I did Denny O juniper berry rub on one(the lighter colored half) and did Katz’s deli pastrami rub on the other half(darker colored half). Both were just great. On Monday the wife did a banana raisin bread and it came out delicious.

Trying to get caught back up after a little absence. Gained ten pounds just looking at all your great meals.

Spent most of the weekend working outside and mostly the garden. Yesterday I did a few NY strips on the carbon steel qith Excalibur Steak and Roast rub. Today I put 2 slabs of St. Louis style ribs on the smoker. Life is good.

GWG8541 Steak and ribs. The all american meal. Many would call for dibs on the couch.

wdaly Good to see you back.

Denny O Thank you, we really appreciate that, & thank you for all the flattery too. However, I’ll have you know that I am no chef, ladies & gentleman, I’ll have you know I am just an humble cook, that likes to eat!
calldoctoday Don’t discount yourself chef!

Denny O I had googled Pastrami Rubs and found several recipes including Katz’s. We actually liked your Juniper Berry the best. I use Juniper berries when I make pickled Herring and pickled eggs. I’m on vacation down in the Ozarks now and using my cell and tablet. I’ll try to remember to post it when I get back to Colorado in 10 days. The one thing I did to both Pastrami’s was to use Dijon mustard as a glue and I soaked my store bought Corned Beef for 24 hours to desalinate.

Bob Stehlik I’ve been thinking about using dijon for the binder. I think I will for the flat that will hit the smoker tomorrow. Thanks for the nudge to use it.

Did an omelet for breakfast this morning since we had some leftover taco meat and beans in the fridge. Had not had one in a while and thought why not have something different today.

Here are some beef chuck trimmings that were marinated in a Soy/Worcestershire marinade & put to pasture as shish kabobs with onions, cherry tomatoes, & peppers from the garden, Baby portabella mushrooms & olives. Smoked in Apple wood for about 1 hour & 15 minutes, then seared on the hot iron.
The beef was very tender & tasty with this set-up. -

calldoctoday All my omelets come out like that, I don’t use the fancy French style and move everything around. I let my pan do all the work, then just flip, fill and roll out of the pan. It was filling, had fresh cilantro inside too.
