HerbcoFood I think one 5 lb bird for 4 people would be fine, especially with kids and older folks being in the mix. As kyle has mentioned the sides has alot to do with it. You can always add an extra bird. If there are any leftovers, pull and vac pac them for later.

We are hosting Easter Sunday at our house and I am going to be smoking chickens. The information I found in the google’s machine came back with results I am questioning. The chickens I get are about 5lbs, so my question is how many people per chicken account for? I am thinking 4 people per chicken, ages include kids through elders.

HerbcoFood I think you’ve hit the nail on the head, but it’s always good to make one extra. Smoked/cooked chicken has so many uses.

HerbcoFood I would do a few extra, it is great with cheese an crackers as a snack. Portion out and vacuum seal for later. Good Luck.

HerbcoFood That is what I use when I do turkeys, two 15LBs fit in the ice chest perfect.

HerbcoFood I would think that would be a pretty good guess. If your Easter dinner is like ours, there is a ton of side dishes that people eat also
