bocephus At least “pounders” makes sense. Sounds like they actually showed up at math class.

zbigjeff picked up a local one made here in town. I was pleasantly surprised with it. It started off peppery and finished with a sweet caramel flavor. Im not sure how far out they are selling in the state, but its worth picking up at a $39 pricepoint. They had a single barrel at 126 proof that I passed on thinking it would be way to harsh. I may have to go back and see if its still on the shelf just to see how it goes down.

I was sipping on Russel’s 10 year while Tech was putting the hammer down on Iowa State. I looked over and noticed my pup sitting like this, so I couldn’t let a great pic go to waste. Side note: My name isn’t James, there is a whole story to that.

Some home brews today. The light one is a creation my son made, which ended up tasting similar to a Witbier. The second one was a Porter which was nice and stout.

My son works at a historical brewery and they just did a Weizenbock for the Lenten season. I think I will be taking a growler down and bringing some home. They are also working on a red ale for St. Paddy’s day. The brewing is done the old fashioned way and so visitors can watch the process. It is the nations only production brewery inside a historical park. It is located in Carillon Historical park and the park Director has really done a good job of keeping the historical aspects of the 1850’s beer production. I have attached a link to the brewery’s site if you interested at taking a look.

The Porter was definitely my favorite.
