Just thinking about this while washing for the umtenth time. Guess we probably all have a piece of equipment we just can’t depart with. Here’s mine.

    PXL_20220223_220447518.jpg

Should have thrown this years ago but, 🤔

Has seen the grill, smoker, oven and stovetop. Perhaps “magic” brownies back in the day.

    Comfort thing? Who knows.

PapaSop I do have some new one’s for people who are over. But, do have one that has seen probably as many environments as yours. It and I’m happy keeping it around.

PapaSop Knife.jpg )This is a knife that was passed down from my Great Aunt on my Mother’s side to my Dad, who gave it to me. Jonathon sharpened it when I won a knife sharpening and did a great job. PapaSop how’s that for a background.

These were originally my moms, she gave them tome when I moved out on my own in the early 80’s. She had bought them in Germany when they were stationed there. She had other baking pans at her house when she passed that were older than these, they were embossed and I believe they belonged to my grandmother. My sister took those. They all looked like these, my mom baked a lot.IMG_0314.JPG

bocephus I have one like that just about passed down with elkhorn handle. The problem with mine though is over 45 years ago, someone I knew that was visiting did something with it & broke the tang off the blade when they grabbed it & did something not too smart. I have still been holding on to it all these years hoping to find someone that can weld that back together & I haven’t found them yet. Those old knives are very nice knives.

bocephus Mine is a home made or custom job apparently. Nice knife, nice handle, very old, but that person ruined it, until I can find someone that could weld that tang back onto the blade & then of course the problem is the elk horn has to be removed too. It looks like this knife was created literally from point to butt.

                                        We call that patina…

I use that word a bunch when referring to my coffee cups. LOL

bocephus nice, that’s somewhere between a large breaking knife and a sabre. It’s kinda hard to see with that big orange glare. Maybe you could take a better pic with a nice pleasing to the eyes blue background.
