cdavis canned some jalapeños yesterday. The pepper 🌶 plants are really starting to put out lately. I hope to get enough for another batch before first frost. My tomatoes are still doing really well. 20210922_071711.jpg

Tex_77 This is going to be my next project, make spaghetti sauce now and I think I can make the pizza sauce with just changing a few ingredients.

I got lucky and picked up a half bushel of Concord grapes from NY state at a great price. I canned 7 pints and 4 half pints of grape jelly. My son is working on a small batch of grape wine with the remaining juice. There should be over a half gallon of wine and a little grape juice for breakfast.

Definitely going straight to fall. 39 degrees here this morning and the squash plant are all telling me they are done pretty much. Some of my pumpkins have been orange for a month. I went out and brought in about 2/3 of them today so the grandkids can come get the ones they had picked out. Hunter, the dog in the picture and my helper weighs over 70 pounds and the one pumpkin outweighs him by at least 10 pounds. He’s also my squirrel dog, he protects the walnuts, when my pellet pistol is off duty. I have another in my compost bin that might get heavier it we don’t get a frost.KIMG0419.JPG KIMG0420.JPG

calldoctoday The post are done right because I had to do them myself after the contractor walked away when I confronted him about how he didn’t do them right first time. Had to dig and pour 12 piers and replaced all the posts along with re-leveling the roof that was 1 1/4" lower from side to side. I ended up suing him for his bond. Thanks for the compliment, most people don’t even notice except my friend who is a structural engineer and did the engineering.

calldoctoday With nine grandkids it’s a battle to who gets what. It’s first come first serve when they come out and pick a pumpkin out. All of the three granddaughters that are all 11 always want the biggest one, the youngest of those three managed to get here first this time and pick out the big one.
