Great post, I have a 5 lb stuffer, wish I had the 11 lb. Maybe someday!

Great post. And good advice. I Started with a kitchen aid grinder. It was lots of work and too slow to keep the meat cold. Got the walton 11lb stuffer. Then got a good deal on a 32 grinder. Now can use the KA on small grinds and 32 on bigger. The more tools in the box the easier the job.

          Thanks, Tex_77 .
I especially appreciated the tips on casings, thermometers, and sanitizer recommendation. Those items are the types of things you do not want to trial and error with.

Tex_77 I’ll have to check out the broken links. We shouldn’t have had too many or many at all, so I might have a problem somewhere…

Tex_77 since you upgraded your post to include grill grates, I’ve schooled myself on their use, cost, purpose, etc. Sounds like something I shouldn’t be living without! Thanks!

Dr_Pain Just used my tru hone this morning to sharpen all my knives, it is so simple to use and really puts a great edge on the knives. I would recommend this to anyone who does processing. May be if you are in a group share the cost it is definitely worth it if you use your knives a lot.

I think the tru hone is one of those tools that I would actually consider doing a group purchase for.
Once a knife has an edge on it, I don’t find myself needing that degree of sharpening all that often.
A tru-hone is light and small enough that you could even ship it to others in the collective without breaking the bank.

Hmm. I would be in if some others were up for it.
