Lots a bourbon on display lately. How about a Whisky tonight?

processhead HAIL YES! We did Homemade beer and double Oak jim beam. But, then, the Glen would also work for sure.

zbigjeff it was $22 did I get a deal?

Tex_77 any bottled in bond for that price is good, but especially Old Grand Dad.

I went to my Tennessee roots tonight. I needed something stiff to cut through all the fried food I did tonight. This Dickel 15 year single barrel definitely does the trick a 104.6 proof. For the strength i’d say it’s fairly mellow and like most good Tennessee sour mashes, it has that sweet aroma when poured. Its a solid poor and gets the job done post haste.

GWG8541 That is some seriously good stuff you’ve got there.

GWG8541 It has been awhile since I opened a bottle of Dickey. Maybe need something special for tomorrow’s remembrance.

YooperDog yep, its already past midnight here, so I guess I’m starting early. Hard to believe 20 years have passed. Especially since our government has apparently forgotten everything that happened. If we do not learn from our mistakes we are doomed to repeat them. To those who lost their lives 20 years ago and everyone one since while fighting terrorism and to keep our great country and the world safe. Slainte

Tex_77 People talk down to it because of the price. I’m happy that the bourbon chasers don’t have that bottle in their cross hairs. It’s a very good buy at 22 and is just tasty also.

zbigjeff After running into a few “bourbon chasers” at my favorite liquor store, I’m pretty sure most couldn’t tell the difference between Old Grand Dad and Blanton’s in a side by side blind taste. Most are in it for the name or status of the bottle and some for the resale value. Very few seem to be chasing it because they actually enjoy drinking a good whiskey. I still believe some distilleries help drive the hype and hysteria. The only good I have discovered because of the “chase”, is I have expanded my arsenal to a lot of excellent smaller distilleries that I may have never tried and now will continue down that road.

GWG8541 Also, very few even know that there is different types of bourbon. I just smile as they slither away when they can’t answer simple questions when they want to be known as the aficionado.

PapaSop HAIL YES. That model is the Cleveland OH bourbon society’s standard barrel choice. Guess they like it also.
