Camping with some friends for my wife and myselfs anniversary. Did a shrimp and lobster boil. Turned out great and the neighbors were happy that I cooked too much

kyle Now that’s the way to do it! Except, you can save some money & just use newspaper for the throw-down. I think it does something for the taste & the mood both. On the other hand, news paper is not what it used to be, is it?

One more thing, took the shells of the shrimp, boiled them with captains bay, strained it and added butter. Dumped over the boil on our plates. Probably not the healthiest, but omg was it good

kyle I understand. There was just something about laying that free/reuse newspaper down on the table before throwing all that shrimp, crabs, sausages, onions, & corn down & then wrapping it all up with the shells after we were done. Try putting one stick of butter for each person in the boil mix (max out at about five), whew, talk about unhealthy & good! I think its time to head for the coast & get some Blue Crabs & Shrimp.

GWG8541 I’m ready for the fall , it’s been a brutal summer here, grasshoppers ate our gardens, temps were 92-103 and no rain for over 2 months.

bocephus it was awesome. By the looks on the faces of some of the people around us tho, apparently shimp and lobster boils are uncommon at a campground

Steven Winscot I realized it was hot down there when 4 of my life buds (2 diff couples) in and around the Houston area came up to Ohio just so they could sit outside and enjoy something outside of their houses. We had a blast while they were here enjoying the “natural air conditioning”.

zbigjeff thanks. It was fun and the family we are camping with are totally amazed by it. The kids really enjoyed when we just dumped everything out on the table. They have never seen anything like it. Life is good

Steven Winscot We are fortunate in Western Washington, our smoke comes and goes with the wind off the Pacific depending on the flow. The only problem, when we get the smoke from fires, we get it from the all in the Northwest and it often looks foggy. The smoke is suppose to move back in today for a bit with the airflow becoming offshore.

Just packaged another pork belly of dry rub bacon. The wife said it’s “some really good bacon”. I’ll take that as a win.
