@dennyo my wife cans the best pickled beets I’ve ever had. I’m at work today but when I get home I’ll see what she has for a recipe and post it.

cdavis Thanks! Sorry you have to work today.

@dennyo sorry I haven’t been on here in several days. It’s been busy. My beets are ready to harvest just waiting on her to get a day free to put them up. She pickles them and uses them in her spicy V8.

RON PARRISH just checked out that North Spore page. Interesting stuff. Think I might give it a try as well. Just not sure I have time for another hobby. But most of the methods they show appear to be pretty low maintenance after the initial set up. Thinking maybe a mono tub or log. I’ve done the box kits before.

I am on my third mushroom flush in the last three weeks. I am going to have to start dehydrating because I can only give away and consume so much. I already have another batch coming up and the second patch has yet to produce. I started the second patch about a month after the first.

kyle I used a larger, about a 3 gal plastic pot to contain the root. If you have a larger barrel size you can plant more roots together. You don’t want to let the roots to spread into the rest of the garden but want the HR to have enough room to grow. I have to agree with the other s that it is dang near impossible to kill.

So, my wife and I talked yesterday and we decided that despite what the HOA says we are doing a garden next year. We might try a vertical like someone posted something on here a while ago…actually let me find that. I can’t find it, it was an image that someone had built a wooden structure with pots sort of built into it.

Jonathon I had built that. You could also consider container gardening. Have Austin’s brother in law get you some used Protein tubs and use them for your containers.

Jonathon Use water tanks (horse troughs) that’s what I am converting a lot of my things to. I don’t have to bend over, they hold moisture better and most HOA’s can’t prohibit a large flower pot. I had a friend in Sacramento whose entire driveway was his garden in pots including fruit trees. It was very productive.
