Since I got off easy from cooking this weekend and heading out to a friend’s this evening, my contribution today is definitely not keto friendly. In honor of Chef I did my Chocolate Bourbon Pecan pie and a fresh Strawberry pie. 20210703_154505.jpg 20210703_154529.jpg 20210703_160525.jpg

Hit up Coyote Bluff Cafe in Amarillo today. This place is an awesome hole in the wall. Had thier green chili cheeseburger today and it did not disappoint as usual. If you ever come here and like heat, get the “Burger from Hell.” Oh and yes that’s a bathtub of iced down beer, you can help yourself to one as you’re seated. Come early or you will be waiting in line.

Tex_77 Thank you! I’m driving the family to Tucson in April. We have stops planned in Indianapolis (to stay the first night) then St. Louis for the Arch, Kansas City for Arthur Bryant’s BBQ and finally Wichita to stay the second night. I plan on going to Walton’s in the morning wearing some Team-Orange gear to (and the wife doesn’t know this part for sure yet) buy some things off of my list. Hopefully, if at all possible, I’ll get to say hi to Austin and Jonathon. After Wichita, I had no planned stops. I knew I wanted to stop in Amarillo, not by morning… but I just didn’t know what for. You just gave me my what for. Same for the rest of the trip to Tucson. I got no planned stops but I’m sure I’ll find something. Hell, I have almost a year. Anyway thanks for the idea for Amarillo!

badfire2625 I heard Walton’s only sells Orange gear on the 2nd Tuesday of each week, but blue is available everyday.

Chef the Chocolate Bourbon Pecan pie is not quite the quality of your Bourbon Pecan, but it gets a little better each time I tweek the recipe. The Strawberry was a request from the wife. Happy wife happy life!

Prime Rib on the smoker right now. Found two small roasts in the freezer and decided I better use them. Hopefully I’ll be able to eat them with the fresh corn and cauliflower, woke up with back pain on one side. Hoping it’s not another kidney stone, I usually end up in the E/R then the O/R with a stint since I go sepsis so fast. I tried to stay hydrated during the hot weather. Feels like my back acting up. We’ll see if I end up with a fever, either way the Prime is going to get cooked!

johnsbrewhouse Hang in there & drink lots & lots of water & a few beers & maybe some lemonade, depending on which type you have. Not wishing them on anyone as I have been getting them bad for about 45 years now. Every doctor has a different opinion about what to do & half totally oppose the other. Taking two medications now, which seem to help, but still got a nice one the other day. Another I dare not take too often as it will do weird things to you. Had a whole bottle of them collected & gave them to the doctor a few years ago. Starting on another bottle now. Have learned a few little tricks to getting through them on my own as the ER is a joke now a days & too expensive to boot. Just save that for the real, real bad ones. It is not easy though some times as these days they have gotten funny about some things, even if you are beyond conservative about them & do not even use them at all unless it is really, really, bad. Hang in there though & I hope it is not another. Enjoy that prime rib!

We’ll see if I end up with a fever, either way the Prime is going to get cooked!

johnsbrewhouse Darn it. Wishing you a good result. It’s never good not feeling your somewhat best. Hoping your team finds the tolerable solution.

Prime Rib on the smoker right now. Found two small roasts in the freezer and decided I better use them.
