the slider press that I received on my last order worked out perfect for making breakfast patties be it a little slow but the results were spot on in size and thickness

craigrice I really like using the Weston rapid patty maker with our stuffers at the shop. It works very well and makes a generous sized patty. Ours averaged just over 1/3 lb. each.

craigrice If there was a slider sized version of the one we have we would sell a boat load of little patties.

Joe Hell I agree and Walton’s needs to sell Pattie papers in that size along with a rapid slider press

craigrice Currently the only least expensive thing we have that will do this is the E-Z Slider and that is beyond what anyone would want to spend on something to make homemade sliders.

If weston or anyone else ever makes a slider press that hooks up to the stuffers or grinders you can be sure we will sell them!

craigrice I’m playing around with something, it wouldn’t be official and we wouldnt sell it but if it works I’ll show it off and let everyone know how to do it. I have had this thought a few times but finally am spending the time and effort to make it work.

craigrice You might be able to add a plate within the cavity that would effectively reduce the overall size. The plexiglass would hold it in place. A ‘doughnut’ of wood or cutting board material should work just fine. If you wanted to get fancy a machine shop could make something too.

Joe Hell that’s possible or a piece of plastic the same thickness ripped to width then cut the holes out with a hole saw at the drill press

If I were going to modify it what I’d do is just make a “filler” piece to fill in the openings, leaving an opening the size of the patties I wanted to make. Pretty sure that’d be the easiest way to make it work, at least in my mind I think it would. Worth a try.

AdamCA the problem that I see in a filler piece is it would come out with each patty then need to be held in place for each movement of the slide

craigrice The inside is angled so you could make the filler (1 for ea side) a friction fit, and I think if you used a nylon or cutting board material it would work. You wouldn’t have to move it from side to side if you made to plus it is a friction fit then it isn’t going to come out with the patties. If I get time I’ll try to make something and post pictures. I’m a wood worker and fairly certain I could come up with something that’ll work. The only reason I haven’t yet is because my wife prefers the breakfast sausage in bags instead of links and she can hand form patties if we want them.

AdamCA yes I have all the woodworking tools also but I still make patty by hand press I just haven’t purchased a patty maker yet but looking at the adapter for the stuffer it has to breakdown for cleaning so changing the tray that slides should not be a problem
