Here’s a look at the first coat. Waiting a few hours for it to be dry enough for the second coat.

Deepwoodsbutcher oh that looks nice. Is the red to hide blood?

Dave in AZ red is a pretty traditional color for meat processing floors. Most places I’ve worked in have this color flooring, whether USDA plant, custom shop or retail setting. I guess that is why I picked it. Blood stands out surprisingly well against this color, since as it dries it gets much darker and almost black. It should not be a hygiene issue.

Managed to get 3 coats of epoxy over the entire floor. I’m pretty happy with the results so long as it holds up for awhile. It won’t be fully cured for about 10 days, but now I can move on to finish electrical and wall coverings.

calldoctoday He’s a great dog. Always by our sides. Managed to find himself a porcupine the other day. Thankfully, it wasn’t bad at all. My other dog passed away this winter at 15.5. He would go all out on porcupines. Killed one once and was absolutely covered in quills. He just stood there wagging his tail while I pulled out close to 50 of them. Still ended up at the vet because he had them up his nasal cavity. Glad our healer backed off quickly.

Definitely have some big batches in my future. I’ve got over 100#s of butts in my freezer and 2 beef scheduled for the summer (wish people scheduled closer to fall, but it never goes that way lol).

Deepwoodsbutcher Now, all you have to plan are the seasonings. That’s the hard choice.

zbigjeff I know. How do I choose? 😕
I’ve got a few ideas for some smaller test batches to try. Going to with an apple and maple sage breakfast sausage. But still open to more possibilities.
