calldoctoday He’s a great dog. Always by our sides. Managed to find himself a porcupine the other day. Thankfully, it wasn’t bad at all. My other dog passed away this winter at 15.5. He would go all out on porcupines. Killed one once and was absolutely covered in quills. He just stood there wagging his tail while I pulled out close to 50 of them. Still ended up at the vet because he had them up his nasal cavity. Glad our healer backed off quickly.

Definitely have some big batches in my future. I’ve got over 100#s of butts in my freezer and 2 beef scheduled for the summer (wish people scheduled closer to fall, but it never goes that way lol).

I’ve got a few ideas for some smaller test batches to try. Going to with an apple and maple sage breakfast sausage. But still open to more possibilities.

Deepwoodsbutcher thats a great looking pup. Is he a skunk chaser also? My Border was definitely a slow learner when it came to skunks. I miss her terribly, but not the skunk chasing.

GWG8541 he hasn’t gotten into that yet. Had a bloodhound that did though. Our heeler never leaves our sides. This porcupine came into the yard near the house and it was just after dark so we didn’t see it when my husband took the dog out.

I agee with this. He is actually the pup we got that would learn from my 2 older dogs. The second one just died about 4 months ago. We got this guy a pup too, but she ended up being too timid for his personality. They got along and she learned from him, but ultimately after 4 years we decided it was best for her to be an only dog. She lives down the road with my mother now, and she is much more confident. We still get them together to play for short periods of time, but she much prefers to play alone.

Picked up materials for finishing the interior of the shop. 4x8 Nrp panels and all the moulding/ trim. Glue for installation and caulk for sealing. Getting so close to moving in. Hopefully, by the end of next week we’ll be wrapping up construction!

Deepwoodsbutcher NPR or FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Panels)?

Denny O it’s nrp. It’s still USDA certified and was considerably cheaper then frp. I decided this was an area I could go with the money saving option.
