Jonathon Pretty cool, since it is a tuna knife and judging from the way it looks to be steering the cuts it must be a single bevel or has a very asymmetrical grind

gus4416 Why yes they do! https://dalstrong.com/ is the site and they have all sorts of goodies. Now, I know this isn’t the biggest deal and I know most people won’t care as much as I do but the packaging they send their knives in is amazing!

glen That is exactly what it is, so we are trying to figure out how best to sharpen it as the tru-hone will not be possible.

HerbcoFood Doesn’t Austin look a little bit more like him than me? Also, I am a pacifist so I could never harm anyone…PapaSop a video will be released on social media soon with heavy ninja vibes! We needed something to have a little crazy fun again!

Jonathon Here is a how to video by Jon with Japanese Knife Imports he has a rep. as one of the best
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA0vdeDDSJI
Pretty involved with technique and equipment
I have two single bevels, a Deba and a Yanagiba, I rarely use them because I don’t fish much.
If I ever have to sharpen them I’ll probably cheat and use my Wicked Edge LOL

bocephus 100% what it was, ND Mike I am a Ronan, I have no master! Actually, that is very much untrue, I am 100% a Walton Samurai! glen I got a work sharp sharpener that might do the trick. They were giving them away with raffle tickets for the guns so Austin and I both got one, and we both had no clue what we would use it for since we have the Tru-Hone but it seems like the Work Sharp we got might work better as it can do single bevels.

Jonathon Yes, I think the work sharp may be a good alternative

So, I was in MT when I saw a text from @j-michael-cominskie alerting me to a sale on the Dalstrong 17" Tuna Slicing blade. They were offering some money back if you bought the sword…sorry knife and sent them the order #. It was sort of pricey but I was already buying raffle tickets and other fun things at the show so I was in the mood to spend money on “frivolous” things. Well…it did NOT disappoint! This thing will eventually end up in my weapons room at my house, but it is going to live here for a while so I can show it off on podcasts and some videos.

Jonathon Needed one of those when I made all that Watermelon Jerky last week. Will try to take some photos next time. One of my son’s came to visit & found it when it was still in the dehydrator. Then everyone wanted some, except for the old guy working up in the attic.

Jonathon I own 2 Dalstrong knives and as you have mentioned, they are really nice. Even the packaging they came in is top notch. I own a boning knife and a breaking knife. They would look great with that sword. I mean tuna knife.
