Happy Halloween everyone. Started today with some Holly mixed with Chipotle breakfast sausage in the CI. Made some gravy and baked a few biscuits to go along with it.

HerbcoFood Looks like you have got yours coming right along. I had about seven freezer bags of ham & pork bones for the pot first that I emptied out yesterday late afternoon. That will take about three days of simmering before I strain the bone broth out & then add the carrots, celeries, sweet & bermuda onions, peppers, ham meat, beans (Great Northern & Mayacoba), etc. Margaret added a few of my pretty poblanos & ripe jalopolenos to the simmering pot today while Andrew & I were out on an inspection. Normally I only use cayenne peppers for the initial broth, but it should have some good flavor now.

A little tailgating action made tacos/fajitas, flank steak marinaded in Excalibur’s Fajita Marinade, also had premarinaded chicken fajitas and al pastor.

HerbcoFood I’m sure it will feel good. Plus then you can open the windows at night. We covered our a/c a couple of weeks ago. Had snow flurries today. Good sleeping weather.

HerbcoFood I don’t know. We are still satisfied with our old Oster with the glass bowl. Have had it what, going on now 40 years plus if I am not mistaken. Except someone chipped the glass last year & I had to find a replacement as I have not had a chance to try sanding the chip down & the seals were pretty dried up too. It does the job. If I had to replace it, I would just want a glass bowl rather than plastic like most of them are now & a simple, high quality, durable machine.

Cold weather has finally set in so I whipped up a couple quick batches of soup in my Vitamix.

HerbcoFood I say whatever works for you. Don’t know about hockey pucks. But, there’s a reason that every high end restaurant I know uses a Vitamix. We tested the Ninja against the Vitamix with carrots and water in the same amounts and ran for 45 seconds. The Vitamix solution was smooth/creamy and the Ninja still had particles of carrots in the solution.

Tex_77 Good job and they both look like “Hail YEAH!”. Note: still waiting on 3rd treatment of mineral oil on the board to start using it. It looks good on your counter.
