Cold weather has finally set in so I whipped up a couple quick batches of soup in my Vitamix.

HerbcoFood I’m sure it will feel good. Plus then you can open the windows at night. We covered our a/c a couple of weeks ago. Had snow flurries today. Good sleeping weather.

Tex_77 Potato Soup is one of my favorites, especially when it is dreary out. Yours looks great & really tasty, but no one including myself will ever beat Mom’s

A little tailgating action made tacos/fajitas, flank steak marinaded in Excalibur’s Fajita Marinade, also had premarinaded chicken fajitas and al pastor.

Tex_77 I love my Vitamix. Bought one for the daughter first, then, mine was not far behind about 6 yrs ago. They are beasts (both dry and wet).

HerbcoFood I don’t know. We are still satisfied with our old Oster with the glass bowl. Have had it what, going on now 40 years plus if I am not mistaken. Except someone chipped the glass last year & I had to find a replacement as I have not had a chance to try sanding the chip down & the seals were pretty dried up too. It does the job. If I had to replace it, I would just want a glass bowl rather than plastic like most of them are now & a simple, high quality, durable machine.

HerbcoFood I say whatever works for you. Don’t know about hockey pucks. But, there’s a reason that every high end restaurant I know uses a Vitamix. We tested the Ninja against the Vitamix with carrots and water in the same amounts and ran for 45 seconds. The Vitamix solution was smooth/creamy and the Ninja still had particles of carrots in the solution.

calldoctoday We did it just with those units. The Vitamix used was 2 years old and the Ninja was new. It was just our own study. It looks like Vitamix and Blendex are the cream of the crop. But, they are a bit pricey in comparison to the rest of the list.

zbigjeff Thank you. I am going to have to check that out. I thought about getting a new one when the bowl chipped last year, but Margaret really like her old one & so I gave it up. However, the day may come before long as that thing is over 40 years old, although still going strong. Does the Vitamix have a glass bowl or is it plastic? I need to go get me some dinner now & give it up. Have a good evening, what very little is left of it.

calldoctoday it is plastic. Vitamix and Blendtec blenders are what you will see in most commercial kitchens.
