Was moving some bottles around today in the arsenal and found this gem dated between 1961 and 1965 according to the 4 roses site and a dating by tax stamp site. There are “others” in one of my storage compartments that I will have to investigate. Such items like Bourbons that were sold in different types of containers. I was just laughing at myself. I obviously don’t know what I really have. Four Roses Full Bottle Picture-Decanter.jpg

calldoctoday Also, determined that the bottle alone with no liquor in it is selling out there for around $40.

PapaSop Another interesting fact is that the best barrels of liquor in the USA are sent to Japan and abroad because they pay the most for them. Which means the USA gets to distribute the second level here.

Why am I not surprised. Probably why we heard over a year ago some of these distillers were sitting on product waiting for the tariffs to be lifted. We’re still having a hard time getting product in from one that I won’t name. Suddenly everything is allocated. It’s a joke.

zbigjeff Well, now it went from amazing to crazy. Of course, to each his own. I cannot say that I have not dug up & kept a few real old liquor & soda bottles. I am trying to remember the names of some of the crazy soda bottles I have found. The liquor bottles were a little more difficult to define. You may need to dig deeper into them thar shelves, not telling what you might find!

I have a few too that I have just collected or have been given to me, empty & untouched both, so I really cannot say much about crazy. I just don’t know the price of it.

zbigjeff Here is what my mom had at her house when we cleaned it out least year after she passed. I had always seen the Delft bottle, but didn’t realize there was still Apricot liquor in it. It is dated 1950, the top was missing but my sister thinks she found it in with some buttons my mom gave her. The bottle is still corked. IMG_0203.JPG IMG_0204.JPG IMG_0205.JPG
