I have a few too that I have just collected or have been given to me, empty & untouched both, so I really cannot say much about crazy. I just don’t know the price of it.

Was moving some bottles around today in the arsenal and found this gem dated between 1961 and 1965 according to the 4 roses site and a dating by tax stamp site. There are “others” in one of my storage compartments that I will have to investigate. Such items like Bourbons that were sold in different types of containers. I was just laughing at myself. I obviously don’t know what I really have.

zbigjeff Here is what my mom had at her house when we cleaned it out least year after she passed. I had always seen the Delft bottle, but didn’t realize there was still Apricot liquor in it. It is dated 1950, the top was missing but my sister thinks she found it in with some buttons my mom gave her. The bottle is still corked.

GWG8541 Glad you enjoyed the latest. We finished it 2 weeks ago. Need to add it back into the arsenal. Will need it for the apocalypse.

zbigjeff I don’t have anything that old and unique, but I started picking up Jack Daniels memorabilia a while back. After my first trip to the distillery in the late 90s I picked up 3 bottles at the gift shop. They were painted bottles and 3 of the 7 scenes of Lynchburg series released in the US. Believe it or not, there are more that were released in Europe in the 1 liter size bottles… I paid shelf price back at the distillery, which was about 30 bucks. I mentioned having these to a friend and he said they were worth a lot more. I check on the internet recently and apparently there are people who will pay in the 400 to 500 buck range for these. Im not one of those people, but I have added quite a bit to my collection over the years. My boys will enjoy these when I’m 6 feet under.

Jonathon johnsbrewhouse Bols makes a good Apricot Brandy. It is awesome there is some in it. I agree with Jonathan. Take a pic if you decide to pour, it would be interesting to see what it has done in the ceramic after 71 years.

He helped many a people clean out their houses when one of his bud’s would pass and that’s what they found in basements. Since he only drank wine and beer, he would give me some of the spoils. Other ones were obtained by me as life happened or from gifts. Enjoy them.
zbigjeff made a big mistake back about 28 years ago. I picked up a bottle if JD for a High School reunion and it was the 125th anniversary bottle. It was on the shelf at a liquor store for regular shelf price. 2 mistakes were made. 1 I opened it and 2 I gave the bottle away since I had not start collecting yet. It was also a painted label bottle. Ill blame it on being young and dumb. I do wish I would have pursued getting the other scenes of Lynchburg bottles. They are pretty cool and tell a story. I did pick these up in 2018 at the White Rabbit saloon. Im learning, just a bit slow.

Jonathon To open it, I would have to retrieve the cork from inside the bottle. I’m sure it’s pretty well stuck after all these years. I thought of selling the bottle, but it may have come from my parents wedding. Both my parents were in the Army and were wed in Germany along with being assigned there from mid 1955-1960. I would be interesting to find the condition of the contents. I need to get the top back from my sister before I open it so I can re-fashion a new cork for the bottle.

johnsbrewhouse I have a device to open up wine bottles that sticks a needle into and through the cork, press a button to force CO2 into the bottle and out comes the cork. That way, I never have to worry about losing corks to the interior of the bottle.
