What did everyone cook today?

cdavis Don’t work too hard. We hope that you & your family have a nice 4th of July holiday one way or the other. I understand though & as many others.
KETO seasoned crackers. Been wanting to try these a while.

Tex_77 We went with a bigger bird. We had Thanksgiving in July! We had sour cream coleslaw and baked beans as sides as well as tortillas. Being thankful for living in this great country of ours!

Update, I ended up in the ER for 5 hours, they found I have a small pulmonary embolism is my right lung. I got home after midnight with blood thinners on board. Apparently, knee replacements and back surgeries have upped my chances of getting one. If you ever find that you have back pain and it hard to breath then it begins to radiate, hit the ER. I guess I will have several appointment this week. I did get the prime rib off the smoker, but didn’t have any, the wife and kid did. They enjoyed it.
Hurts to breathe deep right now, but getting it under control. Thanks for all the concerns and well wishes!
Johnjohnsbrewhouse Thank yo for keeping us posted. Prayers for you from us and others in our prayer group.
May you, your family and friends all have a peace and comfort. And may you medical team have wisdom in your treatment.
Take care and keep us informed with updates.

Prime Rib on the smoker right now. Found two small roasts in the freezer and decided I better use them. Hopefully I’ll be able to eat them with the fresh corn and cauliflower, woke up with back pain on one side. Hoping it’s not another kidney stone, I usually end up in the E/R then the O/R with a stint since I go sepsis so fast. I tried to stay hydrated during the hot weather. Feels like my back acting up. We’ll see if I end up with a fever, either way the Prime is going to get cooked!
johnsbrewhouse Got to determine what type of stone.
I caught one in a strainer and found out it was a uric acid stone, easy to treat with allopurinol
I haven’t had another one in 10 years. It also eliminated occasional severe knee pain -

Pork tenderloin x2. One Asian style, one rubbed and wrapped (but bacon all fell off while cooking). And a Portabella mushroom steak in the grill pan as an afterthought.

I haven’t had another one in 10 years. It also eliminated occasional severe knee painglen Excellent point as noted, it depends on the the type. Mine have always been calcium oxalate. I am really glad you only had to deal with it once & you could stop them. That is great. I hope John can too.

Tex_77 where do you come up with all the ideas of the things you cook? You always seem to have “fancy” food with side dishes I would never think of.
kyle hours of watching youtube/food network/cooking channel etc. I also have tons of cookbooks. I consider very little of what I cook fancy, but thanks for the compliment.

Johnjohnsbrewhouse Glad you got the help you needed. Embolisms are no small thing. Take care of yourself and mend quickly.

Tex_77 well deserved. I am a big fan of diners, drive-ins, and dives myself. I keep a note book by my chair and take notes… my wife thinks I’m a dork
kyle Triple D is definitely a place to pick up ideas and improve your creativity and enhance your adventures with food. I’ve tried several things with different spices or herbs as well as learning a ton of things about regional and different ethnic styles of cooking and food preparation. Andrew Z. and Marcus Samuelson also expose some good ideas from different locales and regions. So in summary you are not alone in your search for something new and different.
