Tex_77 Haven’t had that one in a while. I remember the old days when it was a big, big, big deal to get it east of the Mississippi & we made a big deal out of it. Then when I would go west, it did not seem as big of a deal. We went to their brewery while in Co one time on assignment & tried some other interesting things they do for locals only.

calldoctoday A little coffee in a beef rub can do wonders for flavor.

Tex_77 Yeah, I’ve done it a time or two. Can add a nice flavor but you know how I prefer them!

So, a loooong time ago when Austin and I looked like fresh faced teenagers we did a Will it BBQ episode where we Smoked coffee and OH MY GOD WAS IT BAD. 2nd worst thing I have ever tried and not far off from that #1 spot. However, it has been pointed out to us countless times that we did it wrong and someone here smoked coffee beans and we tried it that way. We might bring back coffee for a will it bbq to report the results on this

Tex_77 Nah, a new pellet/combo smoker and a searbox on the side from Camp Chef. So, reverse sear in the main chamber and then finish on the sear box that is propane powered. The other option is a side griddle but those aren’t in stock yet. I’m also unreasonably excited for this!

Well, the Texas hooch finally came to Ohio. Picked up a Red River and Texas Pot Still Bourbon. While the Pot Still is pretty good, the Red River is outstanding from a location not known for its Bourbon (Yet). I thank all of the Texans out there that advised the businesses down there are creating some good ones.20210121_173150[1].jpg

PapaSop I have that one and 2 others. There’s difference between the 3. But, not “extremely” noticeable in my humble opinion. Yep, there’s a reason for having it in the arsenal. Happy POUR.

Jonathon s request, please list your drink of choice. I’ll start, I love bourbon and Coors Light or a good old Coors yellow belly. My bourbons of choice are Elijah Craig, Bulliet, Maker’s Mark, Jim Beam Black and W.L. Wellers. Now if I just want to pound down some drinks a good 7&7 can’t be beat.

My Doc said I need to cut down on my drinking, so no more mixers or chasers. Its strictly Bourbon or Tennessee whiskey neat, or on the rocks if its hot out. Eagle Rare and EH Taylor small batch are two of my go to bourbons. A good Jack single barrel or 12 year Dickle will work also.
