Joe Hell Weller is part of the “Buffalo Trace” line. If you don’t get Weller, you probably don’t see Buffalo Trace either. Sad for you.

Joe Hell I grabbed 3 from Prarie Artisan Ales for today’s podcast and can’t WAIT to try them. One is called Seasick Crocodile and I think I am going to love it!

PapaSop Do you guys carry Horse Solider Bourbon? There’s a heck of a back story to it. Saw some at the liquor store today, they wanted over $100 a bottle for it.

Tex_77 We have it up here and actually have a bottle. It was no where near that cost. Have to look back at purchases but thinking around $40. I bought it for two reason: 1. Never had it before. 2. The story behind the company.

Jonathon s request, please list your drink of choice. I’ll start, I love bourbon and Coors Light or a good old Coors yellow belly. My bourbons of choice are Elijah Craig, Bulliet, Maker’s Mark, Jim Beam Black and W.L. Wellers. Now if I just want to pound down some drinks a good 7&7 can’t be beat.

Tex_77 Haha! I just noticed you mentioned 7&7 in your original post. Coincidentally I started and ended drinking that (with 7up) when I was in the 7th grade. I made quite a few amateur mistakes with that one! Lol

I’m a little late to the party here on this one, but Tequila is my favorite “I’m not around my family” drink. For the times I’m trying to be a normal human being and keep my clothes on, I make wine with my preference at the moment being Sangiovese. I’m not a huge beer fan but lately I’ve been drinking Southern Tier 2X IPA and their Lake Shore Fog Hazy IPA. Between tequilas…undefined undefined undefined undefined undefined undefined undefined undefined undefined

YooperDog I had a bad experience with several different whiskeys as a novice drinker back about 1979. I can’t even stand the smell of any of them. Bourbon, Scotch (I was once gifted a $100+ bottle of The Glenlivet and had to give it away after trying it once…) Canadian it doesn’t matter. Oddly, tequila doesn’t have THAT effect on me… Just the bad ones…

badfire2625 Regarding spirits and wine in general terms. As one whiskey curator and one vintner said very clearly: “That’s why there are sooooo many choices on the shelves. Find 1, 2, 3, etc that you like and enjoy. Also, listen to your taste buds instead of the experts and just enjoy.” I believe they are wise statements.

Very wise statements. Being in the business all these years I’ve been asked many times , what tastes best with whatever it might be. My answer is always the same. Whatever tastes good to you. If you like a cabernet with spaghetti, drink it. If you like a bourbon with it, same thing.

Very wise statements. Being in the business all these years I’ve been asked many times , what tastes best with whatever it might be. My answer is always the same. Whatever tastes good to you. If you like a cabernet with spaghetti, drink it. If you like a bourbon with it, same thing.

PapaSop But, with all of that being said, there are times when I almost gag at what some enjoy. Thinking that some like Jägermeister are just peer pressure. BTW: It’s only good in my book when it’s warm and the tummy is not feeling good. OK, that happened once in the last 2 years. LOL.
