Drink of Choice

Tex_77 it’s close, probably little over an hour ride. A little fancy for me and my brothers. I will be back down this way in about 3 months and will have to check it out with my wife, I believe she will enjoy it. Thank you for the tip.
A couple times a year I unplug from all this electronic gadgetry, helps me recenter. My brothers still have job responsibilities, a bit tougher for them. But the lack of signal coverage and limited power forces the issue.
YooperDog I’m sure she would love it. It’s not a pretentious place at all, if that is your concern.

Tex_77 no not at all, but you won’t be smelling roses standing down wind from us after over a week in the field LOL. We spent a week cleaning up after an ice storm; opening roads and paths. My laundry bag is stored outside and I am looking forward to the motel to get cleaned up and a good night’s rest.

YooperDog Lol ya, they may not appreciate that to much. Sounds like you need to invest in a solar shower. So was it a hunting property you were cleaning up?

A newer product came in. Perhaps some of you folks in Texas are familiar with this.

Curious to know your thoughts. Balcones.

PapaSop I’ve heard of it, but have never had it.

Tex_77 my brother bought an old ranch a few years back and we have been trying to bring it back to life. He has some plans, but mainly focused for hunting. Had a solar set up, but some thieves stole it. Focusing on fencing, gates and cameras. We got some pretty funny videos of fools trying to steal the cameras while another captures license plate and vehicle. Working with neighboring ranches also to watch out for each other.
Ice storm broke a lot of trees, have at least enough firewood for a couple of years and mesquite for a lifetime of competition BBQ.

YooperDog Looks like you have a great foundation for grilling some good beef on the range too.

PapaSop I have heard that is it pretty good, but never have tried it yet. We cannot get any here in Alabama apparently. Don’t get me started. I would like to get my hands on some True Blue 100 or Cask Strength.

PapaSop I’ve heard of that one often but not sure I’ve had it, let alone be able to find it locally. Thursday is my normal liquor store day because that’s when new freight arrives. I’ll take a look…,if they don’t have that I’ve I’ll just cross my fingers for Weller

Joe Hell Weller is part of the “Buffalo Trace” line. If you don’t get Weller, you probably don’t see Buffalo Trace either. Sad for you.

Lucky you! -
Joe Hell I grabbed 3 from Prarie Artisan Ales for today’s podcast and can’t WAIT to try them. One is called Seasick Crocodile and I think I am going to love it!

Not seen that one yet. -
PapaSop Me neither. Don’t get tooooo many TX products up in Ohio. But, lo and behold on 12-11-20. This appeared.

PapaSop Do you guys carry Horse Solider Bourbon? There’s a heck of a back story to it. Saw some at the liquor store today, they wanted over $100 a bottle for it.

Tex_77 We have it up here and actually have a bottle. It was no where near that cost. Have to look back at purchases but thinking around $40. I bought it for two reason: 1. Never had it before. 2. The story behind the company.

Jonathon s request, please list your drink of choice. I’ll start, I love bourbon and Coors Light or a good old Coors yellow belly. My bourbons of choice are Elijah Craig, Bulliet, Maker’s Mark, Jim Beam Black and W.L. Wellers. Now if I just want to pound down some drinks a good 7&7 can’t be beat.
