@deweymeats congrats on the grinder - I go to the address that TEX provided and log in with my google acct and it works great for entries. I watch on you-tube with no issues - also signed into with google acct.

I agree with option 3. The longer the mix sets the stiffer it becomes and can be a real pain to stuff.

@deweymeats Just my take on this. Have never added anything other than the seasoning for jerky. Personally I wouldn’t add either one. Can’t envision any flavor enhancement with either one.

@oldmeatcutter If you are not adding a binder I would add no more than 32 oz, if you are adding sure gel you can add up to 48 oz. You can actually go above that but the more water you add the more you will have to cook out, so it could increase your smoke time and could change the texture of your product.

@deweymeats I dont think they will every go bad but @Tex_77 is right, 2 years for the seasonings before they start losing their potency and around 3 for the cures. Some cures will harden up though if you don’t store them properly for a few years.

@deweymeats Its just a preference, nothing wrong with adding spices between first and second, or like you adding it before the first grind, though I think you would find more people who add between 1st and 2nd grind. I don’t like doing it because it sets up on the auger and in the head and makes it harder to clean the equipment, but plenty of people do like it.

@deweymeats I have the ink bird IBT-4XP I really like it cause I can set a low or a high temp alarm for the ambient temperature it runs off a app on your phone think I only paid $60 on Amazon

I think I am back up and running. The different apps I use all have a their own security and cookies settings. My old phone is lying in pieces on a hwy somewhere and I am still working on getting this one back to where the previous was.

@killernoms I have the MB40 also with the Auber PID WiFi controller. It works awesome. I thought about the fan also. Do you have pics of your fan inside the MB40?

@deweymeats Great seasoning, love that stuff. Some seasonings like Hab Mango Brat are awesome but you wouldn’t want ot eat a bunch at a time, Philly is a great brat to eat lots of!

@deweymeats Adding a picture can take a little bit of time depending on your upload speed. You hit that white arrow in the black cloud above (pictured below) then navigate to the pic you want. Glad the sticks came out good but yes a water pan should make it even better.
