My new McRib mold
-
I found the files for a McRib mold online, so I had one 3d printed. I love McRibs and these turned out excellent! Most recipes I found online were just pork, salt and sugar or dextrose. I also found a video on how the McRib is made at Lopez foods on OKC. At the plant the only ingredients are picnics, salt, dextrose, and a couple preservatives. I was surprised that they use picnics and not trimmings.

Grimpuppy Frickin’ awesome!!! I don’t think I have ever ate a McRib but I think those would be great for some grilling out or tailgating. I may just need to get one of those 3D printers.

Grimpuppy those look great! I’m a sucker for those. I make mine but overlooking a babyback in foil so I can slide out the bones.

Grind pork picnic or butt through 3/8, 3/16, and then 1/8” plate.
1 teaspoon of sugar and 3/4 teaspoon of salt per pound of meat. (On my next batch I will weigh this out so I can use weights instead of teaspoons)
I did 5 pounds and added 2 ounces of water.
Mixed 8 minutes till good protein extraction and pressed into molds.
Cook on med/high heat about 3 minutes per side from frozen patties.
They say that Huntz bbq sauce is the closest. There was no huntz bbq sauce here in my town so I used original sweet baby rays no sugar added.

Kwick trip and holiday gas stations also have them. I like them better. I never go to the golden arches either

JohnG5 Funny you say that, my middle school made a really good “McRib” it was one of the first and only things that would sell out on a daily basis.

kyle After living in WI for 6 years I have a hard time going to gas stations in other states. Kwiktrip actually has decent kwik food and the bathrooms are generally pretty clean.
