BrianB iowa arborist This arrived yesterday and I had the time to do some checking this morning and it does NOT work with a Weston #12 Butcher or Pro Series Grinder. I have updated the website to include that information and am very sorry, the #22 everlasting knife works perfectly with the #22 Pro Series Grinder, so I have no clue why this would be different with a #12.

I also tried a few other knives to make sure that it wasn’t just this particular one and it is all of them that have a problem.

Jonathon that is a bummer as I was looking forward to having a good knife. I am glad the issue will be resolved going forward.

iowa arborist I just checked against a #32 butcher series grinder and it DOESN’T work. I dont have a #32 pro to compare it to but I can say it absolutely works on the #22 Pro Series.

iowa arborist and I am now questioning this. I might be using the Value Hard Grinder. I am going to do some testing and I will update

Argh, I dont have one to test right now but I believe that they will. Once we get a butcher series back in stock I will test it right away.

This is odd. Everlasting knife vs value hard knife. After one grind and wash the value hard showed immediate signs of rust. Must be the metal composition. Even worse two days later. Both were sprayed with silicon after drying. It did cut very nicely but…

I bought some knives years ago for my thunderbird #12 grinder and they were too thick and would not let the auger turn, I never got around to grinding the sholders off to let them work. I am contemplating purchasing a #32 butcher series hopefully they get the issue resolved.

PapaSop I’ve seen that on the back edge of the knife but never on the leading edge. Hitting it with silicon will do the trick.

PapaSop that’s because the blades of the Value hard are brazed onto cheap casting. The Everlasting is cast and machined out of one piece of steel.
