Joe Hell I understand. I am not sure what to say about that. We are getting so deep into some of this & loosing the simplicity. Plus, I just like to eat good stuff like what you produced. Its kind of like those deer horns, etc. I never could find a way to eat them, soup, or anything. Same with the pictures, but I sure would like to chomp down on that real burger. Pardon all the random ranting, that burger looks great!

calldoctoday Understood. I’m into recreating ‘cheap’ burgers. Fancy burgers are great but there is something about American cheese and ‘special’ sauce that is Americana on a bun

Joe Hell Absolutely. I just really like to keep them simple, pure good beef, lots of cheese, sauce or mayo & ketchup (Mustard only on dogs & brats) & a pickle or two. Don’t get me wrong, I have tried some fancy combinations, but I always go back to the simple one, I just like it.

House made bacon onion garlic burger patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles on a brioche bun. Take that Big Mac EC005E65-6E10-428F-9AC1-78BC4D9FDE65.jpeg

Tex_77 yes I did. It’s what I had on hand. Just got a hog butchered. Just had them grind it instead of making sausage. So I mixed 50 50 with some of my ground beef. It made excellent burgers.

cdavis How do you like that burger press? I have two of them from years ago & they worked good & definitely consistent. But, I guess I got lazy & just went back to hand forming them as it seemed faster with less cleanup. The press made for more consistency, granted & less handling, by far. I like the idea you have of storing them in the freezer in a container, rather than a bag. That is a great & organized (neat) idea. I have been lazy on that too. Par freezing them, then just throwing them into a freezer bag & sucking the air out. Yours looks much better.

calldoctoday it’s a great press and easy to clean but the best part is my kids love making burgers with it. One will form the balls the other runs the press then after so many they trade off. All I have to do is bag and vac seal. Sometimes I get behind.
