Interest in a licensed nutritionist having a blog?

So long as I can still hear about the nitrated pig products…

Good health care professionals know and understand that you can’t change peoples habits and behaviors by being preachy. That just turns most people off. You give people factual information and let them make their own decisions.

Knowing this person’s background and having seen some of what they have done I do not think we would be getting inundated with “stop eating pepperoni!” or anything like that! I have seen few things on here recently about health questions and this opportunity came up, or the possibility of the opportunity so I wanted to get an idea if people thought it would be valuable, seems like there is at least some interest. Thanks guys!

Would there be any interest in having a licensed nutritionist having a spot on Meatgistics where they could post recipes and information on Meatgistics? We currently sponsor someone who has a relationship with someone who has their own cooking podcast, has taught cooking classes, and is a licensed nutritionist. They use a lot of Excalibur seasonings already in their cooking.
At the very least we are going to have them on the podcast but I think there might be a little more we could do here but I want to know if there is interest in it?
Jonathon I think it would be alright to do. More info the better.

I grew up with a mother who was a registered dietician and still had a weight problem. The problem with nutritionist is that most try to fit everyone into one mold. I see a Dr. who specializes in metabolic disorders and studies nutritional habits heavily. She has to change a lot of minds. She has a lot of athletes that can’t control their weight, imagine that. Over-exercise, starvation dieting and following guides from someone who tries to make them fit a mold creates their problems. My mom looked at how and what my physician had to say and was doing a was quite impressed on her approach to the whole obesity and nutrition outlook.

johnsbrewhouse One of the hardest things I’ve seen my wife go through was having to put on weight to get to a point where should lose weight again. Seriously, she struggled with that so much but she wasn’t eating enough food and her metabolism dropped and weight loss hormones got depleted/destroyed. So, she had to spend around a year slowly eating more and more until she could finally start cutting again. Human body is WEIRD!

Jonathon your body has a set point for what your body fat and weight it is programmed to be at. The chemistry of the body will regulate and fight the mind when you try to alter what is set. I struggle with that daily with the metabolic disorder, but I feel better now that I found a Dr. that understands it and has put me in a much healthier position that I was in 10 years ago being a insulin dependent diabetic and well over two sacks of potatoes heavier. I am no longer considered diabetic and turned the potatoes to hashbrowns. The human body is truly a weird and amazing thing,

johnsbrewhouse Agreed on the oddity of the human body. Recently I have heard the saying that Skinny to Muslce is physically harder, Fat to Fit is mentally harder. I think they are both hard! While I was never really skinny, trying to add muscle is a struggle to some point for me, BUT losing fat is way harder!
What happened to better living through chemistry!? I want my fat burning pill!

Jonathon Wouldn’t that be nice, take one pill and eat what you want.

Jonathon in case you were wondering, muscle to fat was an easy jump.

I’m interested. Does this nutritionist have a blog going someplace already, or an Instagram account to follow?
