I cooked up some bambi brats I made a few weeks ago with the Ecalibur Andouille/Cajun seasoning. Everyone in my family really likes this seasoning with the deer brats. I did them as fresh brats, but put a little smoke to them on the pellet grill. Now that asparagus is coming in and on sale at most stores around here, I roasted some with shredded Parmesan and minced garlic. I ussually make brown butter in the CI skillet and drizzle the asparagus, but I’m trying to do it a little healthier and left it off. I cannot wait until my asparagus patch starts popping.

GWG8541 that meal looks awesome! How is your own asparagus, is it as robust as store bought and how many stocks do you get a week? Thanks

Deepwoodsbutcher that pulled pork looks great! That is probably my favorite way to have pork when barbecuing. I like it a lot better than ribs. When I think BBQ it’s brisket, pulled pork, and sausage like they do in Texas.

Dave in AZ when it comes in it is like any homegrown vegetable, it is twice as good as store bought. It takes several years to get a patch established. Once they are mature my patch yields about 12 to 24 shoots a week. The growing period is in the spring. You have to check for fresh shoots daily. They can grow quickly and sprout out in no time.

What I made today was corn bread in cast iron for the first time. I would love to post pictures but since the website update, I get an error message that says image file not supported Jonathon , so you guys will have to take my word that it turned out great. First piece I ate plain so I could really tell the taste of it. Second piece I put my wife’s homemade raspberry jam on it. Thanks mrobisr for the recipe. johnsbrewhouse , yours will be next. I really appreciate you guys sharing your recipes.

Tex_77 Only thing that is good for is corn casserole or cornbread for making stuffing. If you are going to dirty a dish, you might as well go all the way and start from scratch.
