calldoctoday Keep your head on a swivel and hoping everything turns out well. Went out at 4:30 PM and plowed the driveway again along with the complex roadway, it’s about 3/4 mile plus 2 gates. The neighbor up the road brings his tractor out as well to push the icebergs I create. I can plow more snow with the quad and plow than with the tractor. I also plowed the neighbors driveway, he’s 90 and has a long driveway to his house down a hill. Got to look out from him. Will do some of the other neighbors tomorrow. Got cold, it was 24 degrees and the wind chill was who knows what going at 15 mph and into a headwind and snow in cover my lap and legs from blowing over the plow. The soup turned out great, no pictures though, to busy getting the warmth in.

johnsbrewhouse Glad you made it back in OK & real good what you are doing. I used to help out like that at one place we lived, but not near like what you are doing out in the driving snow & cold. Glad you made it back in OK. Soak up that warm. No more updates yet.

twilliams Well, it looks like they have everything they were looking for & all is settled back down again now. I have had enough for one day too & wrapping it up as I have all these reports completed now. Good night to all, now I can get down to the serious business at hand.

I opened my mouth too soon, wasn’t like this a half hour ago when I laid down in bed for the night, thought I heard someone spinning so got up to check it out.

I got lucky this year & did not cook the whole dinner for the most part in over 45 years. My oldest son’s wife’s mother took care of most all of it & she did a fantastic job. I really appreciated it as we have been swamped all of the sudden this year & working today. Just about should have been working yesterday, so will work till late tonight. Had to do something though.Christmas 2021 Honey Glazed Parsnips, Carrots, Peppers, with Bacon Bits I, Re-Sized.jpg So, made up something quick with honey glazed Parsnips & Carrots with Poblano & Ancho bits & a citrusy, buttery, honey glaze, topped off with bacon bits. Was not doing much as I slacked for the day so had to include multiple ingredients that make everything better.

wdaly Thank you. We love them too. They are usually rather hard to get around here, but all of the sudden I saw some in Winn Dixie & had to have them. I have tried growing them here & although I have at other places in the past, I did not have much success here. About like Rutabagas.

Making ham and potato soup today. It’s cold here, snowing and I made a mistake and plowed the driveway and complex early this morning thinking this stuff was done. I was so wrong, a bit of sunshine doesn’t mean a thing apparently today because it dumped another four inches on top of the cleaned off surfaces. Be aware, we don’t get a lot of snow here in Western Washington, our usually comes melted but cold. Guess I will be out again later today with the quad and plow if it stops. If you are wondering why I need to plow, it’s a 30’ elevation change from the garage to the top of the hill.IMG_0271.JPG IMG_0270.JPG

YooperDog We got more last night, no cabs on the tractor or my quad, just bundle up and fly. I did put the scarf on today, and we got some sun. It was an ice rink on my hill once the snow came off, the quad handles it pretty well. Salted it while we had some thermal help. Just looked out and it’s got snow on it again, can’t win. At least the biggest part is gone. If we got more snow I might invest in a plow for the truck since I plow the road for the complex, the quad does the job pretty well in 4-5 passes with a 52" blade.

kyle No bigs winds today just a constant dropping of the white stuff. I am pretty lucky none of the folks I plow for are in a hurry or need to get plowed open quickly. I sort of get in a zone and just keep clearing. Real slippery out underneath this stuff, makes it challenging to get into some of the tighter quarters.

YooperDog We have about a dozen homes with driveways that have hills, the neighbor and I plow them after we do the main road, then clear the icebergs from driveways for those who we know can’t. We have a lot of folks that are older than we are (I’m slightly over 60, I’ll stop there and the neighbor matches me) so we make sure they are taken care of. Neighbor is a retired firefighter who also worked for the city I worked for.

Neighbor is a retired firefighter who also worked for the city I worked for.

johnsbrewhouse I have done a lot of free plowing for older folks, I have no issue at all. I had one customer, younger couple, late 20s, early 30’s wouldn’t even come out and move their vehicles so I could clean and open things. They expected me to come back when they were ready to go out and about to return and finish. Didn’t happen.

kyle Same here and I am approximately due east of you. If I can I will wait until the snow stops, unless it is going to be a big dump or heavy wet stuff. You as well stay safe putting snow in it’s place.
