blackbetty61 if you were making the baked snack mix a person could add liquid smoke but I think you are asking about just smoking them as is

craigrice I would use this it’s what I use for my snack sticks/jerky basically cookie sheets with a bunch of 1/8 inch holes in them

blackbetty61 You can use 1/4" or 1/8" hardware cloth to, just flatten it out and lay it on the grill. It cheap and zinc plated usually, lasts a long time when not exposed to heavy heat.

Just thought you all might like to see what one walnut tree will put out. We are really going nuts, literally. We have nuts drying under the deck, and in the basement, next to the pellet stove as well. We were drying them on the deck, but our pacific northwest weather has returned with rain and cold. Currently it’s 43 degree’s and pouring down rain here and snow in the mountains.

johnsbrewhouse That is amazing. When I was a little kid & we lived on the farm, we had a number of English Walnut trees. My Dad & I would crack them & load the back of his 39 pickup (it may have been a 34) several times & take them to the bakery. That was a whole lot of cracking & delivering.

calldoctoday That’s why the kid does it, he has to earn his keep for still living at home.

blackbetty61 It is an interesting idea, we used cheese puffs a while ago in the |Nacho-Cheese-Flavored-Jerky-Snack-Stick-Seasoning and it was good but messed with the texture too much. I will add cheese-its to the list of Will It BBQ
Dr_Pain Pre-Thanks sale comes out next Monday, it wont be in that one BUT look to the THanksBlackMonday Sale. THAT should be a big one for Walton’s branded equipment.
