    GWG8541 from their site :
“Our Christmas Ale is a brown ale that is brewed with six types of malted barley and fermented with American Ale yeast. It is brewed with pale malt as well as a combination of Caramel, Biscuit, Munich, and chocolate malts. It is hopped and dry-hopped with Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, and Amarillo and has a nice piney and citrus hop flavor and aroma. The result is a flavorful brown ale that is sweet and malty with a pleasant hop aroma.”

Similar to Anchor they change the recipe each year. I’m not usually a big brown ale fan, but every now and then when the weather cools off it’s a welcome change.

YooperDog Have a safe trip. We were in NO a week or so inspecting the Renaissance French Quarter & Arts District hotels. I found one beer that is a serious, just about too serious coffee stout & also an Abita Pecan that was interesting. Don’t forget to get some beignets & Chicory coffee while you are there too. We did not do any Po boys. Just so much extra time & food you can eat. I always feel bad that I did not take my son & inspection assistant to try this thing or that thing when on these assignments, but I suppose that is part of the continuous journey. Where are you headed there?

calldoctoday Haughto/Bossier City area, part of a longer excursion. Hoping to put some hogs in the freezer with the high cost of meat. Need to do some work on my brothers ranch before the snow flies up by us. Usually off grid most of the time while on the ranch, pure bliss.

YooperDog OK, You will be much further to the north. I have not been on assignment to the Bossier City/Shreveport area in a long, long time so things have probably changed there a bit. I know there will be some interesting things still there though. Have a safe trip, be careful, & Don’t work too hard.

calldoctoday A slight diversion to visit my niece. I have been there several times from a previous career and done some exploring of LA. Heading to TX from there, to enjoy some peace and quiet, do some work, visit with my brothers and get in some good memories.

HerbcoFood been doing the same for awhile. Thats when I started to realize the higher priced bottles did not mean higher quality or taste.

I had a $60 bottle of whiskey that I seriously would have rather drink paint thinner. Even in an old fashion that thing was yuk

GWG8541 Yeah some of those highly sought after bottles aren’t that great. I remember the first time trying Blanton’s, I didn’t know what it was. I was pretty unimpressed with it, still am today.

HerbcoFood yeah, I like the bottle more than the product when it comes to Blanton’s. I would even take several cheaper Buffalo Trace items over Blanton’s.

Tonight we bottled the one bottle of grape wine we made from the leftover juice used to make jelly. I am not a wine drinker normally, but this stuff was good. After removing it from the carboy and filling this bottle, my wife, son and I finished off the rest for dessert.

Tonight we bottled the one bottle of grape wine we made from the leftover juice used to make jelly. I am not a wine drinker normally, but this stuff was good. After removing it from the carboy and filling this bottle, my wife, son and I finished off the rest for dessert.

Dr_Pain I do like the name brand Buffalo Trace, but I really like Eagle Rare and EH Taylor from their product lines. Heck, I think I like Benchmark bottled in bond better than Blanton’s.

GWG8541 It’s about time people really started tasting the stuff the “CHASERS” are pursuing. I like the horse better than the liquid.
