I’ve been out of cell range camping for a few days and will be heading back again after a few days at work. These picks were from the campground a few days ago. I started off Saturday morning with Walton’s Southern Style sausage and 2 over easy.

Later in the day I made a batch of campfire chili by browning 2 lbs of ground Bison with garden onions, garlic, home canned tomato juice and put them in my CI kettle on the tripod over the fire all afternoon.

Topped off with a Leinenkugel’s collaboration beer made from German malts and American hops. Its a pretty tasty Lager and a little made it into the chili.

Jonesy you need to try chicken on the run on your fish. It’s a winner 🏆 at our house. She’s a great hand. She hardly ever complains and boy can she run an electric filet knife.

cdavis that fish looks great. I’m a suckered for df fish. Never thought of chicken on the run for that. Great idea. It’s also good to have help with a smile on her face. Awesome!

Jonesy she just turned 11 on September 27th. She’s quite a little worker. She’s good on the skinning crew and really good deboning. As you can tell I like bragging on my kids. They are really good kids so far 20201122_143239.jpg 20181019_100322.jpg

cdavis You better hurry or that’s not going to make it to the table. I remember when we used to fry out a lot for guests & family & if I was frying Crappy, when my Dad was alive he would stand out there by the fryer & grab a few of those Crappies like candy when they went into the bin like that before going inside. That is a great idea using that Chicken on the Run too.

calldoctoday it didn’t make it to the house. The kids had 2 cousins over. They wiped it out right there at the cooker. I barely got any myself.

Probably going to do two chickens next week on the rotisserie, one for supper and one to make chicken enchiladas for hunting. Make ahead of time and freeze for hunting with brothers in November. Thaw it, throw it in the oven on low before afternoon hunt and then turn the temp up when we get home.

I was looking for a protein change of pace so decided to do some chicken sausages. I didn’t have a recipe so made it up as I went. I figure I paid $7.30 for 20lbs of leg quarters, so not too expensive of a failure.

Top left: BWW chicken sausage (use a copycat Buffalo sauce
Top right: Smoke spatchcock chicken (my son and I came up with the rub a while back). Smoked it on my pellet grill
Bottom: Chicken Shawarma sausage (use my made up shawarma marinade)

I haven’t tried them but they look and smell delicious. The shawarma will be served with Tzatziki. BBQ with home made BBQ sauce. And the BWW with some homemade ranch

                                  Cross your fingers HAHAHA!!
