I cannot take credit this, but it was a tasty dinner tonight. My youngest son whipped this Korean dish up. It’s name is simplistic but describes it well. It is a spicy “hot pot”. Its a potpourri of various items and the broth is ladled back over the top during cooking. This particular one had thinly sliced beef, with sausage and kimchi dumplings. For those of you who enjoy Korean cuisine, its a great versitle dish and you can add about anything you like. It is full of broth and served in a bowl with rice on the side. ND Mike the wok is a Lodge CI and perfect for this particular dish.

GWG8541 that looks great. My Japanese cucumbers are ready now so I made Korean spicy cucumbers as a side dish. Sorry I don’t have any pictures. Ate them too fast!

Cooled off enough yesterday to fire up the oven. 4 batches of banana bread and a dozen biscuits.

wdaly man that is one of my favorite Korean sides. Kimchi and spicy cukes with some picked radish are a great summer dinner.

T-bones from my dad’s American Dexter herd. Asparagus on the side.

After the kids get their portions, I add ground habanero to my steak.

My favorite steak method is cast iron sear on the stovetop then broil in the oven.

twilliams It just takes time and practice, a lot of the stuff I cook isn’t hard to make, just patience and not being scared to try something.

RON PARRISH twilliams I agree with HerbcoFood , it takes some time and practice. My wife and I have been cooking together nearly every day for the past 5 years. I recently upgraded to an iPhone11 with the portrait mode and that takes killer plated pictures very easily. This cook was a solo cook that I made for my wife and I for Valentines day this year. I watch a ton of youtube channels on cooking and found this recipe that I wanted to replicate. It came out really well. I’ll see if I can post the original video that I sourced it from as well. The meal was three courses, the starter was simple toast with a ricotta spread, topped with pan-seared tomato and garlic with an olive oil drizzle. Main dish was a stuffed chicken thigh, rolled/tied then pan-seared and baked to finish cooking. The chicken medallions were plated on a bed of creamy pureed cauliflower. Desert is a baked pear on a slather of greek yogurt with a homemade caramel sauce and granola. I didn’t have regular granola so I chopped up a granola bar! Whatever works! Joshua Weissman was the original creator that I followed for the recipe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zU9OP776xcE&list=PL4WiRZw8bmXt9q1_5MhZWqfhIdFg3eINH&index=30

We’ve got mulitple people on here who could probably walk into many restaurants and outcook or at least compete with the chefs! I am NOT one of those people. if we want to open a Sausage Restaurant I’d be in the competition but when it comes to other things I’d probably have circles run around me!

twilliams I am with you, when we have friends over and I cook something for everyone I get to feeling pretty confident about my skills then I come to this post and get my ego deflated again!

@matt-westerhaus HerbcoFood have you ever considered trying out for the MasterChef show with Gordon Ramsey?

twilliams Flattering! No, I haven’t considered a competition but I have thought about a youtube channel…filming cooks looks like a lot of time and effort though! I’ve got a side gig where I collect aerial videography and cut and edit shots so it would cut the learning curve down a bit.

Jonathon The real key on this site is that “others” want you to expand “your palette” and aren’t afraid of giving their “secrets” away. During my IT work or in the kitchen, I love giving it away because then I can move onto a different project. Only confident people will do THAT. The other real key here is to at least “try”. I know that all these wonderful “chefs” have always done it “perfect” the first time. Right???
