gChart That is scary. I normally am not one to think many people look like each other, but that picture make us look very similar. If we ever get a Meatgistics Meat Up planned it would be fun to get you involved and do a parody video as me or something! Lol!

gChart So you saw it too before we said anything! It’s been nagging at me to say something for about a week now, glad I did and if we do the meatup in 2021 I hope you can make it!

Austin who would play me in this parody? I don’t think Brad Pitt is free that day…

Started my bean soup this morning. Rendering the ham bones and soaking the beans. Getting ready to pull the bones and chop the meat and bits, then add the beans and the rest of the ingredients to cook the rest of the day.

First time in I am pretty sure about 44 years with no cooking Chili & Tamales or cornbread for New Years & something good with pork, greens, black eyed peas, etc. for new years day. Swamped with work all of the sudden the past few weeks & still way behind so at the desk, holed up, & writing reports. Here’s to a much better 2021! Happy New Years to all & to all a better new year in 2021.

zbigjeff It does smell really good, added some Kielbasa I had sitting in the fridge into the pot as well. Everybody into the pool. I torn between cornbread or biscuits to go with it.

johnsbrewhouse Beautiful! Send a spoonful this way. You have got to do that cornbread in the cast iron though. I am just messing with you, it looks great & likely tastes even better.

calldoctoday My cast iron dutch oven is under my smoker right now. It catches the grease from the trap since the bucket developed a hole. The Pyrex was my mom’s and works great, just the right size for a single batch.

johnsbrewhouse I am just messing with you. It looks beautiful & what it tastes like is what matters. Cornbread was the perfect choice for today & would have recommended it, had you not already decided on it. My Mother used to make her cornbread in an electric fry pan, like a giant thick cornmeal pancake. Let me tell you, it was the best cornbread you could have ever tasted. It would out do anybody else’s cast iron. So there you go, there is nothing wrong what so ever with one of those glass pans. We use several of them.

calldoctoday No offense taken. I have several pieces of cast iron, but the glass always seems to be the first choice out of the cabinet. My mom had so much when we cleaned out the house after she passed in May we had to decide what to do with it all. I took the Corelle cookware that she had. That stuff has turned valuable. I know some of it is over 40 years old, she had it when I was a kid. I also found some old enameled cast iron pans and pots from the 50’s. I think they came from my grandmother, they were supermarket ware you got weekly or monthly.
