Manual Meat Grinder

Chef We wouldnt sell that simply for the safety aspect. I’ve met more than a few old processors or farmers who did their own who are without a part of a finger or hand do to getting caught in those things. Not saying it can’t be done just be careful!
Jonathon Now I feel like I need to add some safety measures to mine… Safety third as my shop teacher always said. Maybe a plexi glass cover over the belt and pully to start with.

Jonathon I really would not want to use it as a primary grinder, mostly as a backup if we lose power. They do make a safety kit which shrinks the collar and adds a pan. If I used it with a pulley, I would only do so with that safety kit. Now, with my son in law, different story, been trying to get him up in a large tree with my chainsaw…Okay guys, only a joke, he is an Aggie after all.

Jonathon Okay, now I know better. I had never seen a #32 manual grinder. I was very fortunate to find one a woman had that her parents bought in the 50’s an old Porkert grinder, for $25. It had never been used. NOS I had no idea that I could fit my fist into the grinder. Way bigger than I would have ever guess. This will make a spare just in case.

Chef yeah I bought the food tube to go on mine. Also got a foot pedal. Will look at enclosing the pulleys in the future. Id like to have a butcher model, but this should get me through for some time. I did pick up a sausage mixer for a good price.

pr0wlunwoof looks nice. With all the sausage I have made, never got a mixer yet. Just use my big mixer with either the paddle or dough hook.

Chef They are doing good. Today is our oldest’s bday so we gonna be eating bbq later. Also made oreo surprise for desert. All in going very well. Have allot of extra hands atm so that let mommy get a full night’s sleep.

craigrice thats an idea, but finding one in decent shape would be harder than building from scratch. I do have a stainless countertop I could make a cart out of, but then its gonna take up floor space which is becoming scarce.

Jonathon Is a pulley available for your #32 Deluxe Hand Grinder? If you don’t carry it, is there a source for one that would fit that you may know about. If not either, could you take dimensions and maybe a picture of the auger driver. I want a backup manual grinder if I lose power and the option of a second grinder with a motor is an attractive option. Thanks

Chef They don’t make them like that any more, probably not even the German made versions. Yes, they will add a finger or two for some great tasting chili (that is another story that just came to mind, but for another time) if you are not careful.

Chef I keep thinking I may have seen them at Tractor Supply too, in the past. If you cannot find one made exactly for this, I can give you the exact dimensions on mine & you could just look for a pulley of the proper size & then take your drill press & bore & tap a whole in it for the handle if you want to keep that option, while not removing the pulley.
